Unbeaten 21-yo Salinas Featherweight Ruben Villa

Aug 26, 2017
How far can this likeable Southpaw go? Due to fight on the Devin Haney - Ndongeni undercard tomorrow against a relatively unknown quantity in Cuban Ruben Cervera. There has been quite a lot of positive publicity about Villa. Personally, I think he might be a bit too slow and easy to hit, to really make an impression at top level. He is clearly not a KO merchant with only 5 stoppages so far, but he can pick his punches well and his movement is pretty good at the level he has fought up to now and his chin looks solid enough. However, in my opinion he still has a lot to prove. His opponent tomorrow is moving up from SBW, and has rarely fought outside of Cuba, but his record suggests that he does have some power, and from the little I have seen of him, he could provide a decent test for Villa. Any thoughts on this young prospect?
