Think China by letting its soldiers get roughed up on camera is just letting India save some face , so that both sides may start de-escalating.

I'm predicting we won't be seeing any more deaths.

Still, a few days back, the thought of sending in a couple of Gurkha regiments must've crossed the Indian PM's mind..

Hopefully that's the end of it but hard to say. Read an article the other day, apparently this all actually kicked off due to China's actions, I had previously read that India building a new road and bridge had seen China respond to this but China the cheeky fuckers have built roads in the area too and even diverted the river there, changing the border and there fore grabbing a load of land and declaring it as there's.

Interesting . Seems, China might not want a de-escalation or for India to step-down with honour. More pressure on Modi.

"Chinese Inscribe Huge Symbol, Map Onto Disputed Territory In Pangong

The inscriptions, located between 'Finger 4' and 'Finger 5' measure approximately 81 metres in length and 25 metres in breadth and are large enough to be clearly spotted by passing imagery satellites."

Bastards.

"Signalling that it is all for peaceful restoration of status quo ante in East Ladakh but is also prepared for the worst case scenario, the Indian Army has deployed six T-90 missile firing tanks and top-of-the-line shoulder fired anti-tank missile systems in the Galwan Valley sector.

……………...

Infantry combat vehicles along with 155mm howitzers have been deployed all along 1597 km long LAC in East Ladakh with two tank regiments deployed in Chushul sector to repel any aggressive plans of the adversary through the Spanggur Gap.

...…………...

According to military commanders, India is prepared for a long haul in this limited spectrum with capability of a full spectrum retaliation in case the red flag goes up. With the water temperature in the river already touching 10 below zero and the river bed temperatures more frosty than the dominant heights due to temperature inversion, it is only a matter of time when “General Winter” takes over the area and makes Chinese positions in Galwan Valley untenable."

India deploys T-90 tanks in Galwan Valley after China’s aggressive posturing at LAC

I can see China moving troops into Pakistan or making incursions at different points of the long border with India.
But neither China nor India will want to fire the first shot.

India, apparently, also mulling a 5G ban on Huawei.
I'm not sure it's wise to piss off India. Some say their economy will dwarf China's by 2050, driving India westwards is a dumb thing but since half the UK will be Indian by then it doesn't matter to me either way; by proxy we'll be attached to the world's biggest economy.

Thinking about it that probably pisses America off more than China :rofl
