Johnston also doesn’t understand dementia.

we have already seem moments from Biden that show he is suffering from dementia. that does not mean he also doesn’t have good moments. Are you aware that when someone has dementia it often causes disagreements in families because they see different things? One family member may spend a day with family member suffering dementia and not notice anything. The next day a different family member may spend the next day with them and see some examples of slippage, this is usually the way it works until the stage changes.
My prediction is Biden will do okay but we will see some examples of slippage.
Folks who don't see anything wrong with their uncle during the early stages of dementia also aren't engaging their uncle or seeing their uncle engaged in a high stress environment with adversarial interactions that requires the person to recall and articulate on a variety of subject matter related to various areas of domestic policy and government, economics, business, foreign policy and public health management.

You fucking goof.

I expect after the debate both sides will claim their guy won. There's every chance Biden will have some cringe worthy moments though, losing his train of thought completely and Trump jumping on him. Trump often doesn't know what he's talking about but he'll bullshit his way through and come out fine.

Again showing you don’t understand dementia. In early stages sometimes if not most of the time people can seem clear. Ronald Reagan almost for sure had dementia during his second term and for sure had it in 1992 when he was still giving interviews and seemed fine. At other times he was not fine and people close to him including families members noticed that something was wrong,. He was most likely suffering from early stages in 1984 when he Was lost during his first debate with Mondale. Many people including myself thought he was done. In the second debate he did fine and people dropped it.

We have already seen enough to know that Biden has dementia. The question is what stage.

Reagan was never a intellectual heavyweight...his debate team tried to get him to match Mondale on substance for his first debate and that was beyond his ability.

Reagan did however have a good bit of social intelligence and was essentially quick witted. So when they changed tactics he did great by most people's standards in the second debate.

In a sense winning these things is determined by the most ignorantly disengaged portion of the electorate. Basically your right that usually unless it's a terrible performance most people think their guy won.

So you look at the undecided voters and who they think won.

Of course there is also the media narrative.

When Gore debated Bush the first time Bush benefited from low expectations.

But inspite of that Gore was thought to have won by more people via immediate polls.

Yet in the next few days the media replayed Gore's sighs and facial expressions. He came off "bitchy".

Today we have that same dynamic but we have more of a partisan division.

So if Biden fucks up Fox and the other channels will play it up. CNN and MSNBC won't.

Vice versa for Trump.

Also you have the same dynamic with social media and those who disseminate content.

I however think you are very wrong when you think Biden is more likely to have a fuck up.

Biden has had very few jaw drop forehead slap moments in debates.

Trump however has done terrible at his own press conferences.

For fucks sake man...he went on a tangent where he suggested doctors inject disinfectants.

Is Joe Biden suggesting parents play records for their kids really worse than that?

I'll answer for you.

It's not.

P.S.

Fuck you @Haggis for liking that stupid comment I was responding to.

Didnt Trump more or less run unopposed in the Republican primary?

if that’s the case of course it’s only trump votes. There was no one else of note for anybody to vote for
Are you trying to explain stuff to the village idiot.? ...who seems to have developed a speech impediment...or maybe was just reduced to the home-brewed vodka again. :smile

Trump was an outsider in his own party

They didn’t even want him initially
Yeh 4 years ago in 2016.

What's that got to do with Trump, the Republican party and his support within said party in 2020?

If he is such an outsider who are the significant opponents he faced in the primary that had any real chance of taking any significant amount of votes off him?

What an awful, disgusting cunt that woman is. Vile.

The only reason that Americans are going to suffer is because she doesn't want Trump to have that credit going into an election. Think about how disgraceful that is, that people suffering with bills, paying for food, for heating etc. will now have to suffer even more because she won't approve something that makes Trump look good. She's a contemptible woman.

I said this in another thread but this election is only close because it's Trump and he's an obnoxious, divisive buffoon that people hate. Nobody is voting for the Democrats or Biden, they're voting against Trump. The mask has slipped and whilst the Republicans may still win with Trump, the next election with someone remotely decent as their leader will be a landslide.
