Top caption (''Loma said he won the fight'') is BS.

His beef is with the scandalously wide scores.
He gave away the first 6 rounds and that's on him, but let's face it - he needed a KO to get a draw :yep
"If it’s a draw we use the unspoken rule of boxing, we look for rounds 10-12. I won two of them. It’s two to one."

Thanks I overlooked that. Nah I think that ''unspoken rule'' Loma refers to is BS.

I do think it's great he speaks up as a fighter and actually uses the word ''bribery''. It's good articles are being published. More attention should be given to these scoring atrocities every other week.

And before anyone starts: Teo won the fight but Lederman's card was absolutely criminal. That can't be incompetence.

Lopez says no rematch for Lomachenko :

“Lomachenko didn’t want to put a rematch clause on our contract. There’s a lot of things. I could get real dirty into this, but I’m not. I’m looking the other way."

It's great that Loma speaks up about it. I hope more boxers follow suit.

I honestly never really doubted compubox but the numbers also seemed off in the Ryan Garcia vs Campbell fight.
Just like with judges I guess it's very easy to make friends with the people pushing the buttons.

Is this sport with the aid of GBP/WBC/DAZN getting more corrupt? I mean the commentators have become biased as well..

The judges don't actually see the compubox stats though.
I think a lot of it is just incompetence and no accountability. CJ Ross, Adalaide Byrd etc... they don't have to get in front of press at the post fight conference.. rarely if ever asked to justify there scores.

should give him the rematch just on principles, i mean lomo gave him half his pay check. so if he is the champ what's the deal towards not giving him the rematch? Lopez is not convinced his W this time

If Lopez goes with the rematch he's going to have to give up the IBF belt.

The IBF have mandated Lopez negotiates with George Kambosos or it's going to a purse bid in 30 days

Listened to an interview with Lopez recently, and he said that the kambosis fight is unlikely due to travel restrictions.

Also said he feels no need to rematch Loma.

He thinks Garcia and Tank will fight next, so he wants to face Haney.

Haney fight is less exciting than the alternatives, but it would mean an undisputed champion. (if ibf show some leniency due to covid=.

Yep I saw an interview as where it didn't seem he was that interested in Kambosos as well.

He was saying the fight makes no sense unless in Aus we can get a big crowd and it can be done in a stadium also that it's going to cost Kambosos. I think that is still a potential as the covid situation is pretty much under control in Melbourne (don't want to jinx it!) and they'd get a good crowd there.
The money situation could be a bigger problem.

Lopez VS Garcia or Tank is proabably a bigger fight but I really like Haney. I think Haney has a heap of potential. He just needs to find himself some more power.
Of course the undisputed thing is a big draw. To me unification is more important than just about any other fight across the board really. Isn't the IBF talking of stripping Lopez if he doesn't fight Kambosos though? That would really suck. But surely with the covid situation a case can be made for Lopez to put off Kambosos for a bit longer. Lopez is state side, Kambosos is down under. We've got restrictions on being able to leave the country etc etc.

Lopez is down on Lomachenko because Loma didn't give him a rematch clause. So his argument now is, why should l give Loma a rematch?

Yeah, the ibf are talking of stripping him. Only way round it I think is if they could somehow blame the pandemic, and the ibf granted an extension.

I like the ibf though. Their mandatory rules are clear and always enforced consistently.

I would obviously prefer Lopez to face one of the bigger names, but kambosis is a good fighter, and he's earned his shot.

I can't see him getting a belt though unless some fighters move up.

You’re exactly right about the IBF.
We can all be a bit weird as fans sometimes. We complain when mandatory isn’t enforced properly then complain if the mandatory is enforced but we don’t like the fight.

Can’t really have it both ways. I would like to see the belts stay together but can understand the strip.

Worst come to it Kambosos can fight and hopefully win a vacant belt then get a unification fight after. I sadly don’t think he would win a belt by beating Lopez but I do think he does want to fight the best so at least he would go for the unification in the event he got a vacant one

In a perfect world Kambosos would beat him then beat Haney, Tank and Garcia and sit undisputed on the throne for a while :)

Only if he then goes up and loses to Josh Taylor. :good

I think compubox is a good indication of how poor people are at seeing punches even from ringside. If compubox is way off it gives me reason to suspect the cards are going to be way off at the end as well. It’s an indication of perception, while I can see punches landing or not. I think compubox is fairly accurate when it comes to correlation with judges scorecards.
Anybody who has been watching the sport knows those numbers have been rubbish since the start.

You imagine seeing punches nobody else in the world sees. It isn't hard to see who is getting it wrong.

It's a fair point to be honest.
Lomachenko is a bit naive about the pro game, after the Salido debacle he should have known that the pro game is corrupt and anything can happen.
What he says about compubox is spot on, but he’s only realising this now? Yes what he says about beating Lopez is accurate, but does he expect judges to be able to score properly? He should have known that Lopez was being groomed to be next, with a large fan base and many more years ahead than him. A rematch clause was a no brainer for that reason. So I don’t feel sorry for Loma here. I feel sorry for him with all the ducking that has gone on, but he had control here.

Cool, I bet you haven’t even rewatched the fight. You should doubt yourself more, be a bit more curious, and really look at what is happening. Don’t appeal to consensus when the consensus is appealing to consensus. That’s why we have so few people that can properly score a fight. Learn boxing.

I not only watched it l scored it to Lopez too. Seems everyone else who saw the fight did score it to Lopez. Except for you of course but you saw imaginary punches that were never even thrown.

Fanboys gotta fanboy and nobody out fanboys you.

Repeating something doesn’t make it true.. read my previous post again. After the fight I offered anyone the opportunity to really go over a round of their choice, there were no takers. How many times do I have to repeat and point out that I don’t care about an appeal to popularity? I care about the facts.
