Just to be different.

I will go with Lopez by Ko. Strong kid fast hands and power.

Lomachenko has a brilliant skill set. is fighting a division too high in my opinion.

As a technician Loma is like Orlando Canizales and Juan Manuel Marquez roled in to one. But he has shown some vulnerability at Lightweight.

Only way Lopez wins is by KO he aint boxing. We shall see if his power counts.
Otherwise it will be a Calzaghe vs Lacy type of masterclass.

Haney should demand that con artist Sulaiman refund his sanctioning fees. AFAIC the victor on Saturday will be unified, not undisputed. Haney is the future & IMHO would give Loma a stiffer challenge than loudmouth Lopez.

Just watching the final presser now

Teo has some things going for him.. he is big, powerful and confident right now. If he can land his best punch....

What I think will happen is that Loma is going to beat the shit out of this kid, thanks to Teo sr.’ trash talk. It’s absurd that they have a problem with Loma because they think he walks around with arrogance... while they run their jaws with direct attacks on Loma at every opportunity.
I hope Teo Sr. becomes a father after his son gets broken down and stopped. Teo could be good for the sport if he wins, but I think with his emotional fragility he is heading towards ruin as soon as he takes a loss. When he is getting outboxed and hurt by Loma, we’ll see if he has the heart to be a top contender. I’m worried about Teo, this kid has been talked into this position by his Dad. Power only gets you to a certain point, and Teo hasn’t had the opportunity to have his heart/resilience tested. This isn’t going to end well for him.

Teo is way too basic to be even remotely succesful vs Loma. I think Loma's going to school him the same way he schooled Walters, i.e. Teo's not going to land anything. It's going to be a mismatch.

I can tell you watched the press conference, Teo Sr was doing some big talking, I must admit I was in stitches when I heard his explanation as to why there's animosity between the teams I had to watch that bit twice (22:45 is the timestamp for anyone who doesn't want to watch the whole thing but wants a good laugh) but I agree with you and @REDC, I got Loma winning a fairly comfortable decision tomorrow night, cannot wait for this one, too bad I'm in the UK, if I can stay up I will otherwise I'll have to catch it first thing Sunday morning so I'll be back then to discuss with you guys.

Lopez doesn't look super drained, but I'm impressed by Loma at the weight. I reckon he's grown into 135 better than last August. Neck in particular. Those neck rolls...

For me, I fancy Loma. I thought Lopez looked a little rattled at the presser and weigh in. If Loma can work the body early on, he will stop Lopez late. I just feel Lopez not focusing on the outside foot battle will cost him. I know it's his style, but Loma's schooled in this.

Nothing to say Lopez can't knock him out though.

I think it’s good that Lopez looks rattled, that means he understands that this is going to be a very difficult task. He needs to be cautious and focused.

The footwork is where Lopez is going to lose, he doesn’t have it and he doesn’t have the sense of range that a top fighter requires.

One thing I’m not sure about is how Lomachenko’s dislike of the Lopez clan is going to play into this..
I’ve never seen Lomachenko want to get at someone as much as this...
Is he going to neglect the feeling out process, is he going to put the hurt on straight away? Does that give Lopez a chance to land his punch?

I’m amped for this fight. There’s a bit of danger and uncertainty, and there is feeling between them. I’ve been under the impression that Loma has been a bit bored with boxing in previous fights. The lay-off and the opportunity to hurt Lopez might be just what he needed to get the fire burning brightly again.
