Lopez is in for a rude awakening
I think you are right. I also hope you are correct, because Lopez could use some humbling.

He is quick though, and can punch. He might be the biggest threat since Russell Jnr, but I think he gets out boxed and maybe gets stopped in the corner late on.

I can't but admire the kid. He seems to have that champion mentality where even if he loses vs Loma it'll make him even better. (Time will tell/confirm of course)
Look at Shakur and Ryan dicking around in their comfort zone against uncompetitive "competition".
His dad has convinced him hes invincible, he even went through mental health problems after a Loma loss I think he will be finished at the top level

If a "professional" athlete is "done" at the top level after only a single defeat then he/she is mentally very weak. Most fighters are insecure AF though. Hello boxing.

LMAO !!!!!!

I just dropped Lopez' chance of beating Loma from 20% to 10%.
It will take huge ring smarts to beat the Ukrainian matador, and this kid isn't playing with a full deck.

(He still has a chance though, and DAYUM am I psyched to see this fight!)

Linares for me is the best and most accomplished fighter loma faced. I don't know why linares doesn't get the credit he deserves he's a 3 (correct me if I'm wrong) weight division champ and is a veteran. The knock down he scored against loma was no lucky shot. Ryan garcia is gonna be humbled if he thinks linares is gonna be easy

It’s a long time between fights for Lomachenko. Almost seems like he is retired, on his way out. He had a long amateur career. He should still easily dispatch this guy, but I think Loma is old for his age. I don’t think he has had the same passion in the pro game, there seems to be some fire gone.

Interesting possibility. Hard to believe Loma is 32 y-o already. That's definitely getting up there for the lighter weight divisions, and Loma's style is extremely dependent on his reflexes & his legs, which are the 2 things that start to go first.

And as you say, he may also be mentally tired. It's hard to train at the elite level, at any age, but over time it becomes a real chore. He may be at the point where he wants to coast a little, and start enjoying life more.

He seemed really jaded in the build up to the campbell fight.

I also agree that he doesn't have the same love for the pro game.

I think he finds it all too easy, it’s just an obligation to fight now. He doesn’t like the talk of the pro game, he was born and bred with the mindset of the best fighting the best. Even his enthusiasm for the game from 2008 to 2012 was diminished, he was at his absolute peak in 2009 and most people didn’t get to see him.
He is motivated by challenges and they haven’t been there. Mikey Garcia and Gervonta Davis clearly haven’t wanted it despite their talking, so now he is stuck fighting this loud mouth child.

Thing is, the virus pandemic won't be gone by September. It might even start getting worse, since at some point the government will HAVE to let people go back to work.
