I'm thinking Helenius stoppage, but I'm really torn as I think he could last the distance. :think

Ah, South African Boxing - my speciality lol.

It's gotta be a Split decision and I'm awarding it to Jeffrey Mathebula. Go Mongoose! :)

Still needs picks off you for tomorrow, lads. :good

GazOC - You've got a bit more time as it's on Saturday, imagine you're going with Abraham PTS anyways. :yep

Poulard-Alvarez - To paraphrase WelshDevilRob: ah, a North American unification bout, my speciality! However, it's not the worst you have given me recently. Alvarez has been making waves - well, maybe just ripples - even only 11 fights into his career. He's undefeated, and it seems that the worst thing about him is that haircut. Everything else looks pretty tidy (er, reading that back, no homo, I meant his boxing skills). Poulard, on the other hand, arrives at the ring with similar confidence levels and talk of world title shots, but without the style, talent or record. He has already dropped a few results. His brother is Jean Pascal, but he has got little of that fighter's solidity, to my mind. Poulard only won his title on a tight split decision, and has looked shaky at times. He also punches like a girl. Alvarez, on the other hand, has improved fight on fight, really seems to be finding a rhythm, and does seem able at least to think about moving beyond domestic level briefly. He has handled big-name opponents such as former Euro champ Danny Macintosh and former world-title challenger Shawn Hawk, both victims of our own beloved Welsh superstar and soon-to-be-unified LHW titlist Nathan Cleverly. Okay, that last bit owed more to hyperbole and blinkered Team Wales euphoria than to the real world, but his record is more convincing than that of Poulard.

So Alvarez wins. But how? Inside distance, Bryn, inside distance.

At one point in his career, Poulard was 1-2, having been stopped in his second fight by a guy half a notch up from 'bum'. Alvarez might not go on to dominate the division, but he does have plenty enough in the arsenal to dominate Poulard. The referee will save Poulard from his own determination to live up to his own self-image and the achievements of his brother - Alvarez wins, brutal TKO

Thanks lads, all picks in now and posted below.

Any thoughts on challenge bouts, I'm confident that Alvarez with get the stoppage. Anyone disagree with this challenge or have another in mind?

Also, I've gone with Helenius TKO, but I'm not 100% convinced. Worth going with PTS?

Friday:

Eleider Alvarez vs Nicholson Poulard - @SimonTemplar / Alvarez TKO

Adonis Stevenson vs Darnell Boone II - @Lilo / Stevenson TKO

Adrian Granados vs Kermit Cintron - @Grant / Cintron PTS

Saturday:

Arthur Abraham vs Robert Stieglitz II - @GazOC / Abraham PTS

Robert Helenius vs Michael Sprott - @Bryn / Helenius TKO

Jeffrey Mathebula vs Takalani Ndlovu III - @WelshDevilRob / Mathebula PTS

I think Cintron is going to banjo Granados early.
:think

If he doesn't then it would be a surprise, not so much early, but he surely must stop him? Can we change your mind, Grant?
