 The only time i've read a thread and been on the floor in tears.

I never wanted it to end..
This is what he sent me when I told him I think Hopkins is more technical than RJJ

"None of what you have just stated makes any sense. When you say technically, what on earth do you mean..?

Motor co-ordination, reaction time, spatial awareness.

These are all the attributes that make a athlete throw a punch or perform better than others. And these attributes are physical talents, they are all athletic ability. Bernard Hopkins has aged better than Roy Jones, and just like Roy Jones he relies on his reflexes and athletic ability. How else are you going to invade a punch, without reaction time and motor co-ordination.

The fact of the matter is..? you don't invade the punch.

There are plenty of fighters out there with great technical ability but they all have to retired. Because their bodies can not apply those skills any more.

Bernard Hopkins is not technically superior to Roy Jones Junior. If he was then why can he throw all these combinations, why can't he throw multiple left hooks at a time, and make them land. All these performance, take technical ability. Why does Bernard Hopkins has to constantly reset, reset whenever he throws afew punches.........because his technically ability is not as good as prime Roy Jones.

People don't know what technique is, people who are not athletically talented. Think technique is something they can do better, if they concentrate on it. Its the same kind of notion, when you get FAT people saying! That the extra weight advantage will help them later on in a fight.

Bernard Hopkins body has not degenerated as much as Roy Jones, that's all that has happened.

If his body had degenerated and aged as much as Roy Jones, he would be complete wasted.

Because this is a physical sport, its not Golf.

If this was like Golf, Larry Holmes would still be heavyweight champion.

Larry Holmes has got great technique, so why can't he come back and wipe the heavyweight division out...?

Note: Because technique is apart of athletic ability. Components of fitness such as reaction time, spatial awareness, motor-co-ordination, knowing where the bodies centre of mass is at a rapid rate! Is all used when you performing sporting movements. And when these athletic abilities decrease, so does the technical ability. And the fact of the matter is, Bernard Hopkins is not as good as Roy Jones Junior. Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins biggest assets are their athletic ability. People need to understand that athletic ability is not just how fast you can run, or how much weight you can lift. Its those components i have just spoken about, this is apart of athletic ability. And with their speed and power to weight ratio, just like Roy Jones Junior that's their biggest asset.

And the fact of the matter is Bernard Hopkins is not technically on the same level as Roy Jones Junior."

He could fire posts like that out at rapid speed all day :rofl

Primadonna Kool was terrific. @rossco you're right he had a real knack for throwing out lengthy posts of a certain style very quickly, as did Craney/DC. I had good time for him also even if most people hated him. It's a shame both are gone IMO, the sport is in a bad patch at the moment with not alot of big fights happening, maybe if things improve certain characters will return.

Realistically there is only a handful of places to talk Boxing online, and there are so few proper Boxing fans that intelligent discussion in real life can be hard to find.

PK is the GOAT.

I'd love to re-read his long post about Mike Tyson.

It's the most honest, raw and intimate account of what it's like to be a fan I have ever read. Incredible read.
Chinny got there before me, Prima's post on Tyson is the one I'll remember him for.

What happened?.

I get on with the lad personally. Don't always agree but always been good to me in convos on here and fb.
Telling others members to commit suicide because they don't agree with him, being a condescending prick trying to push his agenda on people. I was curious to know who this fanny was. Turns out he is pretty insignificant.

I dunno mate, I was discussing his greatness with Hairy Highlander a few weeks back.

The man was a true modern day great. I will upload a few screenshots of posts he made that brought me to tears.
Remember HH's post about Flea in Thailand? One of the funniest things I've ever read on a forum

I really miss PK, totally unique style & I hope he's doing well irl

I want to know, what fighters your emotionally attached to..? beyond fan and a supporter.

I don't care if, no one reads what i'm about to write....well as long as one person reads it.......i'm ok with that.

********************************************************

I've never really been emotionally attached to a fighter since Mike Tyson. I wasn't a fan, i was there with Mike Tyson inside of the ring, i was almost in his corner in his last years.

What memories he gave me..............i remember crying myself to sleep when Mike Tyson lost to Kevin Mcribe. I wasn't one of these Mike Tyson fanatics that where stupid, who thought he would beat king kong.......i was a realist.

I was put on a week long depressed and angry state, when Mike Tyson was beaten by Lennox Lewis. "I was a fan of Lennox Lewis" but not emotionally attached.

You know...like football fans are to there team, like all the Liverpool fans.

When Mike Tyson retired, i became very bitter towards him. Pretty much like Teddy atlas, and that's when i started to become real about Mike Tyson.

You see i hold Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis in higher regard.

But Mike Tyson was just something else, and i don't think another boxer will ever grab a hold of me like Mike Tyson did.

These days, I'm a fan of fighters. But i can leave the room, and run to the kitchen to get a drink. And carry on listening to the fight from afar, its no big deal. Sometimes even though I'm supporting a fighter, if it's become a one sided fight.

I actually want the other guy, to start fighting back more. Tag the fighter I'm supporting, and hurt him, ohhhhhhh what the hek smack him about abit.

Just for my own satisfaction and entertainment, you know...its makes it more an event.

But..

When Mike was fighting i couldn't leave the room. I was on the edge of my chair, and at times i just couldn't bare the pressure. Before a fight, i felt nervous as hell and would pace up and down my living room...as if i was preparing to fight myself...........unbelievable feeling.

"it was like being on some kind of psychological drug"

No fighter since has ever did this to me, many people on here may think I'm a bigger fan of Roy Jones Junior. Because i very rarely speak about Mike Tyson, in recent threads ive even made comments like this........

"Can't find the thread...but i was stating that Larry Holmes would beat a prime Mike Tyson and some other stuff"........search engine if ****ing ****!!!!!

Because in a way, i was left hurt by how Mike Tyson left the game. We all waited patiently, for the old Mike Tyson to return, like Christians and religious folk hold on....they just hold on.

"And wait for Christ to reappear........."

I hung on his every word, and interview week after week. Maybe it was because i was young, and i was at the influential stage in my life "when you look up to people", but when you become a man, things change....and you want people to look upto you................

"I'm second to no one..."

I'm quite a arragont person, i compare myself to David Haye. I'm not a bad person, but by my own admittances I'm a primadonna, but my heart is in the right place, thats all that matters. Very few people can get to my heart in life, but Mike Tyson was one of those people.

Ive never returned to TysonTalk.com since his final fight, i don't watch his fights on a daily basis like i used to, or listen to interviews over and over again, and i don't speak of him to friends or during training.

But sometimes when i'm training, and no one's around. "I still want to be like Mike"...i may walk in the pub in a nice fitted t-shirt, with my traps and shoulders on display.

And as i make my entrance, i will twitch my neck back and fourth. "And nod to afew local peeps.........just like Mike.

He was not a superstar, he was beyond that.

This might sound gay, but it must of been love. Or something like it, and some people say your heart can only love once.

Fighters like Audley Harrison, Danny Williams, Roy Jones Junior, Evander Holyfield have got my respect.........but its just not the same.

And i don't know if it ever will be...

I hear ya. I don't like that type of talk neither even if it's in jest.

As a person off of here away from fleaman he's a nice bloke. But i understand why you feel that way.
