Round and about
I remember limewire giving my computer full blown AIDS and going on porn websites waiting forever for pics to load.
Constantly trying to 'get off' before getting 'cut off'.

quake 3 on dial-up
ampland

msm messenger - great to find bored women

then a whole bunch of fuckers got on the bandwagon and it went shit
That part. :yep

It all went downhill (and continues to) when big business muscled in.

!) Playing microsoft checkers

2) Bang bus, Captain Stabbin. Back then on porn it was frequently just a 9 second highlight snap (which took forever to load). So you had to try and bust your nut during to various 1 second long snippets in the highlight reel.

3) Trying to get fat girls to show me their tits on MSN Messenger

I tried to watch porn on the internet for the first time probably in 6th or 7th grade. What ended up happening was I downloaded some horseshit off AOL called "Movie Nudes" which was a written guide that graded how good the scenes with nudity were off various R rated movies. Having no clue what I was doing, the download sat in a folder somewhere on the computer indefinitely. My sister eventually found it, but the link back to me was never established so I saved face.

As the World Wide Web turns 30 years old today, I thought it would be a good time to ask.

Did anyone on here use the Internet when it first launched? Do you remember the pain of dial-up and spending hours downloading a video clip? What old websites did you frequent?
Dial-up :mad3

Thankfully a distant memory.

I think my first Internet experience was actually on the Dreamcast (I didn't get a computer until a year or two later).

Admittedly the connection was so shoddy I could never play games against other people. It was only used for submitting high scores and browsing the web.

Did Lee make any money off the Internet? He invented one of the most popular and widely used things, something that literally changed the world but he doesn't own it. How would he of made money from it ?
They say that if Lee wanted to have owned it, he'd probably be the world's first trillionaire/super famous. But to him, trying to help humanity was more important - respect to him for that.

Not that many years ago regardless of what you searched for in Yahoo - the search king at the time - you found Pamela Anderson somewhere in your search findings.

Motherfucking chatrooms. Yahoo chat was my favorite. I'd spend hours in there. I remember you'd go into room and say something in the general chat box like "any girls from (insert area here)" within minutes you'd have 2 or 3 private windows going. It was always a crap shoot too cause everyone didn't have digital cameras and scanners so you relied on the girl to describe herself. Had so many interesting encounters from that.

Netscape Navigator.

First time I used the interwebs I was in high school in a computer's class. I jumped on the internet and the first thing I looked up was Breaking, Bboying, etc. I remember finding this grainy ass video of two dudes in some high school somewhere popping and locking, one of them busted some footwork and a backspin. I can still see it in my head. I was so stoked.

:rofl

Wish I could find that video.
