Had the same pair of 40 quid Adidas 10oz gloves for last 5 years.

Absolutely fucked at this point and need replacing. Just use them on the heavy bag currently, train 4-5 times a week. Always wrap my hands, never had any problems injury wise.

Just want a half-decent replacement, dont need anything expensive, ideally same sort of price, maybe go a bit more, but dont see point as not sparring with them, and as say never had a problem.

Any recommendations?

If you got 5 years out of the ones you have and you are happy with them you would be a fool to buy anything but the same again.

Do you realize how much gloves vary brand to brand? In particular how wide they are across the knuckle. Boxing gloves are about the last thing I would buy online without trying on first.
Hadnt given it much thought tbh. Cheers for the heads up. Will see about finding a local shop and buy there.

What specifically should i be looking for 'feel' wise, other than the obvious? The only gloves i've ever bought were the adidas ones over 5 years ago, and they've always felt fine to me. Cant remember trying them on prior to buying, and wouldnt really have known what i was looking for at that point.

Local Sports place has Everlast, cant remember specifically which. Seemed a bit cheap and shit tbh.

Goes without saying i always wrap my hands first.

Was under the impression that that fact is far more important for hand safety than the quality of the glove, at least in the entry / lower price level.

With the restrictions of my limited budget, I bought a pair of lightweight boxing gloves owning 10oz, wrist support and full knuckle safety. I have no complain but I will get a newer one fingerless in the future when my pocket will allow me.
