'Straya, cunt.
So today I got up at 5:20 am to drive to the job, got ghee bang on time do no coffee to ease the day in, spent the working day setting out and fabricating the framework for the cladding in a new school on the other side of town. Two and s quarter hours on the way home then my daughter and her boyfriend made dinner, have had s couple of single malts plus a fed Japanese beers and am happier than I’ve been all day.

:think1 Are you misunderestimating the number of malts and beers you've necked, by any chance?

Did nothing for the first hour or so. Spent the most of the next 7 hours building pallets. Wasn't too bad though as the machines kept breaking down.

Was off yesterday and took the kids to Helix Park and the Kelpies in Falkirk ... had a meeting in Edinburgh for an extension to a hotel the next day, I had cunningly set it for 11:00am to avoid the worst of the traffic through there and had intended going down to the office early doors to print off some drawings, specs, etc

Slept in, so fucked that idea off... copy all the files over to my laptop, threw it in my bag and arranged to meet the director at a place to drop my car off at 09:00am and head thru to Edinburgh with him to wing it... chatted shit on the way up about how much we hate this client and if they start any shit, we’ll just get up and walk out, blah blah and got there an hour early ... brass necked it to see if they could seat us earlier, there was a roofing contractor coming in at that time so we just held a joint meeting to allow us to coordinate with them.

Meeting was a scoosh, not much to discuss and got away quickly, ran thru to recon another project we have at a rail station on the coast 30 mins away... (job looks great even though it’s adjacent a live line) and then headed back to Glasgow.

Made some phone calls on the way back, nip the Directors head about making sure he picks up variation costs on another job at the local Nuclear Naval Base, we had to upgrade the spec to accommodate blast loads that weren’t mentioned at pre-contract, so managed to talk myself into attending another meeting tomorrow morning at the base to sort this out.

Got back to Glasgow the back of 14:00 but said I was gonna go work from home for the rest of the day... went got lunch instead, chicken and ham salad and large Americano , sat out the front of the cafe and scoffed my lunch ... headed back to the gaff and spent the next hour and half of work time on Rightmove ... now I’m in the shitter typing this on my phone.

Went out last night, dying from a hangover and getting no work done unless someone comes bothering me in my office.

Been pretty busy today.

Meetings most of the morning but all online. Tuesday and Wednesday's are designated work from home days so half the office aren't in. Settled down from about 11 though so called my wee bro as he has an interview on Friday and he's only ever had 1 interview before. Went my walk but started raining so took shelter for 15 mins and walked back. Had lunch at my desk just now and online catching up with the world.

This afternoon I need to do some research to complete this business plan. I need to find out how much companies cost for their services so i can prices ours competitively but this is harder than you'd think. Aint like these places have a price list and you have to phone for a consultation. It's actually given me the idea of actually creating a price list for our new company, full transparency type of thing as if this is pissing me off I'm sure it is for others.

Also trying to find average salaries for the roles I'll need to fill, but that's much easier.

Got an unrelated meeting at 2 that i really just need to dial in to rather than contribute too much.

Somebody woke up and found her husband dead in bed beside her.

And a guy had his phone stolen out of his car yesterday, and just threw a fit at me when I told him that's not an emergency. :rolleyes

I'm retired but have been busy as all get out today. I got up early-----5:30 a.m. and made the coffee then went out and got my coals going so I could smoke 11 lbs. of pork belly I've been marinating in my fridge for a week to make some bacon.

Then got inside and got things going with a 4 gallon pot of chicken/sausage/okra gumbo, large container of potato salad and cooked 5 lbs. of rice for the darts final tournament tomorrow night at a friends bar. There will be about 100 people in attendance and I supply the eats and he puts out 2 kegs of beer, all free for the taking.

It is now just shy of 11 a.m. and this is my first real break where I can actually try to cool off and relax a bit. I still have to pick the chicken off the bones and discard them so the gumbo will have no bones in it for people to deal with.
Right I've had it. Next year I'm booking a flight to Louisiana and heading straight to your house Gumbo to get some of your cooking.

I added a series of limits to an engineering schedule but by proxy rather than directly. That doesn't sound like much but it was a fucking cunt.

All of my day has been based around knocking an old garage down so that a greenhouse can go up in it's place.

It's all odd jobs for me this week, greenhouse goes up tomorrow so that will probably take all day, then on Thursday, I'm painting a load of fence panels and then I'm off for a couple of weeks.
