TBF, the economy has very little to do with the president, or even government. It's cyclical. If Trump did have an impact on the economy, going by the amount of times he's been bankrupt, America would be in the worst recession it's ever seen. Then there's the national debt issue.
Just saying America is in an acceptable state. Trump has been mediocre and ineffective, which is good enough. Every Republican administration I’ve lived through before him has probably been worse (so far).

Since the late 80s, Bush commandeered slow growth, Clinton had a booming economy, Bush Sr. watched it collapsed, and Obama did the same as Clinton. Look at the S&P500 chart.

Well, the proof will be in the pudding. The appointments of both are somewhat equally bad. Let's see what Boris fucks up.

Imagine 10 or so years ago thinking Trump would be prez and Boris the PM. Mental.

And that's a fair position to take.

I'd argue it's a ridiculously narrow view though.

And none of them were responsible for any of that. Presidents are at the mercy of the economy. The economy is not at the mercy of Presidents.

That isn’t totally true. For example, if Trump didn’t go for tariffs, the S&P 500 would likely be several percentage points higher, possibly even double-digit. Bush Sr. and Jr. both went to war. Some of it is based on the actions of the president or their party. The Nasdaq crash and housing crisis weren’t really Bush’s issues though.

Bush Jr. did allow Wallstreet to bailout which helped Obama plenty though.

Of course they can tinker around the edges but they have little effect long term or of real significance.

Why do you care that I care?

I don't really care, but I care enough to post this thread because he took the care to have a press conference today, in turn, the media cared enough to plaster it all over their media platforms.

It's not real, Smudger.

You're just having a bad dream.

You'll wake up in January 2020 and discover that nearly everybody else had the same nightmare.

And you will feel so relieved !

Trumptards will make some excuse for him, of course. When the reality is that he called Charles the Prince of Whales because he's ignorant and doesn't read,so he just took what it sounds like. Same as he called it the Marine Core because he's ignorant and doesn't read, so he just took what it sounds like.

People focussing on him calling Charles the Prince of Whales are disregarding his point in the same tweet that he also met the Queen of England.
