Brit/Ire What next for Joe 'Juggernaut' Joyce?

  • CHB will be closing down as of 31st July 2021. It's been a brilliant experience to run the website for the past 9 years, however it's time for me to move onto different projects. Thanks to every single person involved, from staff, former staff, posters old and current. All support means more than anyone knows. Thanks for your understanding.

Joyce is so limited but I can’t help but root for the big ox.

Saturdays fight was one of the funniest I’ve seen in a while, from Joyce’s slow awkward punches to Stivernes moobs and utter lack of head movement.

I really can’t see Joyce do damage at world level but I hope I’m wrong, he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

I can see him being in some really fun fights domestically, would love to see him and Price or Allen duke it out.

He's rated in the top five by the WBA, Allen and Price are not even top five in Britain can't see either fight happening mate.

Price would have a slight chance on power alone but Allen would get badly beaten up.

Maybe not right now but I can see the Price fight happening down the line, especially if Joyce gets beaten.

How does Joyce manage to throw slow punches so quickly?

He's awful.
Joyce is far from awful.

I think in the fight against Stiverne, once Joyce realised he wasn't going to blast Stiverne out he decided "OK, I'm gonna beat him up" and stopped throwing powershots in favour of arm punches. A lot of them. Even when arm punching, Joyce hits hard and the combination of his pressure and his volume mean that he's an awkward customer (and interviewee, but that's separate). His size and strength are also an advantage to him as he easily muscled the 273lb Stiverne around.

His footwork and defence need work, he's not the finished article, but I like the poundland knock-off of 1972 Foreman and think he'll provide plenty of excitement.

Joyce seems to have come out of his shell since getting the job done against DDD, been watching a few of his interviews following confirmation that he will fight Carlos Takam on July 24th at Wembley Arena and he looks very relaxed and has alot more to say than he used to and fair play to him too. Says he prefers to fight AJ than Usyk because he wants to fight the best in the division but I can't forget that Usyk did already beat him and it was pretty comfortable too so I wonder if that's contributing to the reason but good to see the Juggernaut liven up a bit a drop his shoulders on camera, looking forward to his fight, good appetiser for the main event across the pond that night
