What will Yarde's excuse be for not fighting Kovalev?

Why will Yarde Pull out of Kovalev purse bids

  • Timing is not everything

  • Want home advantage & Kovalev won't travel

  • Reeves was a gruelling fight, Anthony needs rest

  • Trannies in the camp

  • Kovalev goes KKK and starts trolling Team Yarde with T shirts again

Now purses bids are due, what's the excuse going be?

Predicting Yarde will sign with Top Rank to avoid the fight, and Kovalev will face Beterbiev next in Autumn.

I can't see it happening at all. No way they put Yarde in with Kovalev, not when he hasn't faced one live body. If it does we're going to see one of the biggest exposing's in recent memory.

I think Yarde is talented but I can't help but feel that somethings up. There's rumours that he's chinny and I suspect that there's a gas tank problem.

Think the bookies are being a little harsh on Yarde, offering a Kovalev win at 4/9 and a Yarde win at only 2/1.

Warren surely would have spoken to him, no?
Yeah, and I don't trust Tunde. Maybe he will say they want it and then pull out. Maybe he thought it would not come off. I will be stunned if they put Yarde in with Kovalev next. If they do...fair play to Yarde, but it will show up even more how ludicrous their career plan will have been. Barely any step ups, useless fights with non punchers that teach him nothing but allow him to fall into bad habits and walk through people...then BOOM in with a monstrous puncher whose best shots are the exact shots that Yarde gets caught with most.

Still, it would at least stop making them look so ridiculous and timid.

4/9 is great odds. If it gets made, then the odds on a Kovalev KO win should be even better.

Round and about
Maybe Kovalevski's perceived by the bookies as an ageing shot alkie..

I still reckon he'll dine out on lion meat myself if it really did get made. Yardini will gas quicker than a '63 Pontiac with Kovalev in front of him.

The whole point of Yarde not fighting anyone good but getting a WBO mandatory position was to get an easy world title shot and hope to win, Brook and Wilder did it aswell Yarde cant turn this down the guy looked drained at his last weigh in I doubt he can afford to stall another year hes going to have problems making weight soon

Still think Yarde should have took the Beterbiev fight, Beterbiev got dropped and looked vulnerable, Kovalev is a harder fight based on styles especially with Kovalev getting a new trainer

Choosing between Kovalev and Beterbiev is like choosing between getting run over by a bus or a truck.

Yarde is already into bad habits, nonchalantly strutting into range against guys who are scared to get hit by him. Good luck trying it with either of those 2.

Haha true, id give Yarde a real chance against Beterbiev early though he stands up straight and loves to trade, problem is if he lands your fucked

This motivated Kovalev looks the best mentally ive ever seen him, he got ktfo by Alvarez and was so calm walking into the ring in the rematch he knew he didnt take the first fight serious, I think Yarde loses then moves up to Cruiserweight whre he will struggle big time

As poor as Brook and Wilder's records were, they were both better than Yarde's. Wilder had beaten Harrison, Liakhovich and Scott. Not good names given the time he got them, but at least Harrison was a decent punching, Olympic gold medal winner who had won the EBU title too. Liakhovich...shit fight, but a better name than anyone on Yarde's record by a fucking mile. Scott too.

Brook had won the British title, defended it several times againt guys like Jennings, beaten guys who had challenged for world titles like Matthew Hatton (who had gone 12 with Canelo) and then at least solid guys like Jones and Senchenko. Awful record to be fair, but still much better than Yarde's. When he first faced Jones, Jones had only been stopped twice in 44 fights and 23 of his 34 wins were by KO.

Yarde has yet to fight someone with any dig at all, and only one person who looks properly durable on record.

Its true they could know Yarde is vulnerable, im suprised he even makes weight at all, they might not believe he can win it but are just hoping he does, realistically if he wins then their plan was perfect lol

Yeah true. If it happens, and he wins...fair play. I will still think it was a stupid plan on paper, but if it works out then it will have served him well. But it won't.
