@Tangerine, I don"t think Bellew could have earned more money in another fight , on r that could be made. I respect you wanting Bellew to win , but I can only see one winner on Saturday , Usyk, possibly by stoppage. Regards Mervyn Thje Gee
He’d have made more fighting Whyte, said that himself.

Bellew admitted it himself in the press conference, he could have created a problem against a lesser fighter (he mentioned Whyte) and earned more money fighting him.

Usyk, and unlike many here, it's nothing to do with a dislike for Bellew. I always found Bellew to be a good lad on ESB, and generally I support Brits. I supported him in all of his other fights bar the first Haye one, where I didn't realise how shot and injured Haye was, so had a bet on Haye to win. But if I see a great talent, I tend to enjoy seeing them do great things. Federer has been my favourite tennis player since 2002. I'd support him over any Brit.

I supported Bolt when he ran, I'd have supported Bekele over Farah if Bekele was fully fit at the Rio Olympics. It's nothing personal, I just don't see where you were born as the most important thing. That said, I always support England in team sports, and I will usually support the Brit in individual sports.

With Bellew, I do now find his whole routine on the BBC and Sky a bit tiresome. The whole "family man", "I'd die in the ring", and "my wife was going to divorce me if I fought again". But, I also see that he's selling himself and making enough of a profile in the mainstream media that he guarantees himself work in the future when retired...so why begrudge that? Back when he first fought Cleverly, you'd never have thought he would end up being widely known and a guaranteed Sky pundit, but that's where he's got himself now.

But, his fans can be insufferable. And the idea that anyone who writes him off in a given fight is some hater who has a problem with Liverpool is ridiculous. Some have that problem, but calling out someones limitations is not hating.

Most importantly, if Bellew wins...what? He retires. It massively damages Usyk's reputation and his rise, it slows down the chance of him fighting Joshua or other heavies, and it doesn't mean we see some more exciting Bellew fights, because he is done. If Usyk wins, we are another step along the way to seeing potential greatness and being there for that journey.

We've been privileged to live through the careers of PBF, Manny, Lewis, RJJ, Hopkins, MAB etc, and we are now seeing Loma, Usyk and other potential legends carving out their place in history. Seeing Usyk become an ATG is far more exciting to me as a fan of the sport than seeing Bellew's swansong be a win rather than loss.

i would love it if Usyk could absolutely destroy bellew, stand there and take his biggest shots. then beat the shit out of him and make him quit on his stool, thus destroying the two biggest myths (the fact that bellews a warrior and carries huge power) in British Boxing History

I largely agree here, but IF Bellew wins i'd see it less as a derailment of Usyk's future as an ATG, and more just a demonstration that he wasn't ever going to make a big impact in the heavyweight division.
Still, I would like to see Usyk win and go on to even greater things. If Bellew wins I'll be surprised, but not unhappy. I like the guy, he has worked hard and didn't need to take this fight so I begrudge him nothing - I'm just a bigger Usyk fan than I am a Bellew fan.

Usyk because Bellew is just an annoying hypocritical prick, but I don't even rate him that high so I can unfortunately see Bellew having some moments

I can see Usyk winning, but climbing up to heavy and cleaning it up, that I can"t see. AJ was 18stone for his last fight, don"t see Usyk getting near that. Regards Mervyn The Gee

I think Usyk stops him late but I have hedged my bets and put a bet on the fight being stopped between round 10--12.
