In New Hampshire, Maryanne Williamson is polling twice as high as Kirsten Gillibrand is.

:hat
She's likable. Watched her live on Rubin, and she seems like a nice lady with a couple relatively decent points, and a fair bit of oddnrss. Gillibrand is unlikable. Any recognition she was gaining over the course of the debate ended when she said something like "who do you want sitting in the oval office?" And America collectively made a easy decision that they actively didn't want her being the answer.

If I were American, that would be enough for me to not vote for her. Absolutely pathetic. For a fucking kick off, there's plenty of African Americans who have no descendants that were slaves in the US, and plenty of white Americans who have no ancestors that were involved in slavery. Even if that were not the case, nobody today owes anyone an apology as an individual for historic events. If they do, then women who are the daughters of rapists should go and apologise to the rape victims for what their dad's did. Kids who were abused by a parent, should apologise to themselves for being culpable in their own abuse.

My mother-in-law was born in Italy, and moved to the US when she was 2. She is white American in terms of her citizenship and her cultural upbringing is Italian American. A friend of mine is American born and raised, but her grandparents emigrated from Liberia to America in the 60's. So...my mother-in-law owes her an apology for something that neither of them have any ancestral link to?

This sort of shit is as divisive and pathetic as it gets.

Candidates should be able to do this easily. Long-form conversations are the only way to test what someone actually thinks. I disagree with some ish, but thought out beats just about any metric for me. Judge me however you like.

The debates are set, and their purposes clear. Yang and Tulsi have been put near center stage this time. The moderators are going to try to hammer them. They really really have to prepare for this weekend harder than for probably any thought process in their lives. They have to be prepared flawlessly on defense, and have a few shots forward that they can launch. I think we see my boy stall out, and my girl have a strong showing.

Biden and Bernie are going to be the last two standing of the current field. Of the people that announced, none of them have a chance.
Still standing by this?

Barr warns Mueller that testimony remain within the boundaries of the report. Another dog and pony show.

https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/454233-doj-tells-mueller-to-limit-testimony-to-his-public-report

Any testimony must remain within the boundaries of your public report because matters within the scope of your investigation were covered by executive privilege, including information protected by law enforcement, deliberative process, attorney work product, and presidential communications privileges,” Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer wrote in a letter to Mueller that was obtained by The Hill.

Really weird how they "randomly" split up the candidates and made sure Bernie & Warren are not on the same stage as "Sleepy" Joe Biden.

Because Bernie and Warren are in 2nd and 3rd place in the polls, and they would both attack Biden from the left wing perspective. This is the second time that Warren (who has a long history with Biden) has not been allowed on the same stage as Biden.

To be honest they should have formulated the debate line up with how the candidates are polling. Similar to how the Republican debates in 2016 had the highest polling candidates on the main stage, and then there was the "kiddy table" for the candidates that polled lower.

It reeks of corruption. It smells. I don't buy that they did this randomly. At least Tulsi will be there to attack Biden on his neocon-esque voting record.. If she gets called on by the moderators, that is.

You realize that in a random system, whether Warren and Biden are on the same stage or not is just a coin flip, right?

You win or lose two coin flips in a row, you think absolutely nothing of it. But if it's in a debate, now it's a conspiracy? :think

Also, devil's advocate. If they arranged it like the GOP debates last time, and had a kiddies table, it would be easy for you to complain that it's rigged, they know that nobody will watch the kids debate and they don't want to let people hear what Tulsi and Yang have to say in case they start getting momentum. :thumbsup

Also, you know there are going to be 10 more primary debates after this one, right? Most of which will happen after non-political junkies start paying attention, at which point the field will have condensed and everyone will be standing on the same stage. :thumbsup

Yeah, I don't agree that it is "just a coin flip". I think they did this deliberately. The DNC is rife with corruption, we all know this.

Also people do watch the secondary debates. You are right, however, that this system allows Yang and Gabbard to be on the same stage as Biden. So that is a positive.

Also, that's good that there will be 10 more primary debates, I hope that they finally include Warren on the same stage as Biden. Biden needs to be exposed for the neocon that he is.
