Btw, Bill Maher has turned in to kind of a joke the last year. He used to be a "cool" and funny political guy in the 2000s and early 2010s, but now he's pretty much turned in to a "get off my lawn" grouchy asshole type who is waaaaaaaaay too establishment friendly. He's even been talking down on "medicare for all" lately which is ridiculous because he was always a single payer guy.

I used to watch his show all the time but now I only watch depending on who the guests are.
I still kind of like Bill Maher, he's definitely lost his way the past couple years but he will still call out SJW nonsense when he sees it and doesn't like Islam so he will occasionally deviate from typical liberal thinking.

With that being said, at the end of the day overall he is just another neo liberal imperialist and that should be pretty clear.

So you only watch people you agree with?

I have always liked him even though I often don't agree with him.

I agree with both him and you on the sjw shit too but I think he also goes on about it way too much. It’s literally every episode now he complains about it.

If this comes down to Bernie, Biden and Warren like the polls are showing, then Bernie should be the clear choice. Warren has electability problems with her image and Biden is way past his prime at this point and has too much baggage for the base on issues such as voting for nafta and the Iraq war. Warren is also not anywhere near as genuine as Bernie is.
How realistic is a Sanders presidency though? Would he just be expected to be a one term President? I remember when McCain at 72 was thought of to be absurd as a 2 term Pres... Bernie will be 2 years younger than McCain at his death entering office.

It blows my mind how many people flat out refuse to even acknowledge that it's an issue that Sanders is SEVENTY EIGHT YEARS OLD AND JUST HAD A FUCKING HEART ATTACK ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL.

As a voter, I don't want someone in his 80s leading NZ, let alone the USA. You're all in on a fucking 80 year old without even knowing who his VP is or even if he plans to serve two terms or not? That's crazy to me. Bernie who is still recovering from a heart attack, will be older on Inauguration Day than any POTUS has been on any day in office, ever. Including the two who are suspected of suffering from dementia during their terms.

Don't care.

If Bernie got even one year in office he'd do more to reset the political landscape than any president in my living memory has...other than Trump :(

It would set the most incredibly positive precedent possible in the USA.

I think it's realistic but I do acknowledge he would have some problems in a general election, especially since the democrats have not nominated someone close to that left wing ever. FDR was arguably more left wing relative to 1930s politics but even he got in under some way out there circumstances which was of course the great depression. I just think at this point, I'd take him over Biden's "more of the same" politics and Warren's electability problems.

I'd rather nominate an old guy with heart issues who has some good strong positions that would be good for the country than a guy who would basically be the gay white version of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

I'd rather nominate someone who we can be confident won't croak in office during the first term. Does Sander's VP choice not even matter anything to you? If he was to nominate one of the Squad who is all-in for him, does that affect anything?

The Republic is on shaky legs. It's tottering. This moron you have collectively voted into office is a real danger to the stability of your society, in a way that no politician we've ever seen before has been. What if Trump loses a close one and won't accept the result? Is that unthinkable, off the table? Clearly it is not. How would Bernie handle that? We've seen him fold immediately and bow down when confronted, both by the BLM protestors who he allowed to take over his own rally, and then by Hillary who openly fucked him in front of the world and then got his endorsement. How does this 80 year old react when the election gets really ugly? I like Sanders, but I can't see how this 80 year old socialist Jew with the platform "free everything for everybody and everybody's taxes are going up but it still won't be enough to pay for it all", is this invincible electoral juggernaut. :conf

He's not invincible but if it comes down to him, the fake Native American and Biden, he's the clear choice. I'd rather have Tulsi Gabbard or Jesse Ventura be president and I'm not that big of a Bernie fan but I'd rather give him the nomination over another guy who is also old and is establishment and a woman who would probably lose to Trump.

It's a no win situation from this perspective though because Sanders, Biden, Warren and Trump are all over 70 and it's an incredibly stressful job. I don't think I'd bank on any of them being alive in another 8 years, but I do get your point that Sanders probably looks least healthy. If Sanders was running against young opposition, I think this point would be more common in discussions but, luckily for Sanders, his main rivals are all also old.

I don't have too much of a problem with Biden, I am sick of the establishment obviously but we would know what we are getting. I don't have a problem with Bernie and I was rooting for him to beat Hillary in '16, but he lost me a bit after that election. Warren...forget about it, can't stand her.

Is it really pretty much a given that it will come down to these 3? Of everybody else....I Love Tulsi, Yang seems like a nice guy and is growing on me, Buttkreig doent seem too terrible to me surprisingly there are some things I like about him.... Booker is a fucking joke and I absolutely hate Kamala the whore Harris with a passion (If any of those 3 picks her as their VP (especially with their age) I WILL VOTE TRUMP), Glad Beto dropped out, he was fucking pathetic.

Bernie and Warren's policies and priorities are at least 80% identical. If either of them wasn't running, they would be endorsing the other.

Is it really pretty much a given that it will come down to these 3?

Why WOULD YOU VOTE TRUMP? Like a child throwing a tantrum? What part of his administration and legislative priorities would you be voting for?

And what's your beef with Kamala Harris? I don't like her either, but since you HATE her - what is it about her that you loathe so much, that Trump and his administration don't also display?
