Yea cause those polling companies are real legitimate...give me a break...
Aye, of course they're legit.

It's literally their business. Which they'd go out of if they weren't.

Politics is only a tiny portion of their business, also.

They cold call people and the only ones who pick up are old people who still have landlines and haven't learned to ignore spam calls and have time to sit around the house all day and talk to some random jackass on the phone. The people who answer these calls are the same morons who withdraw thousands of dollars from their bank because they belive "Bob Green" with the heavy Indian accent is actually from the IRS and is sending the cops to arrest them.
No, they don't cold call.

You have to register to be a participant in polling. There's phone and online polling now too.

You, demonstrably, don't know what you're talking about.

I get cold called all the time....

I think you just like the results of these polls cause 90% of the time they are conducted by people who sway them to come out showing positive results to your political ideology and preferences and then take offense when someone calls out how full of shit they are actually are.

@Touche

it looks like Bloomberg is gonna jump in. I don't like it.

He's coming into a weak and divided field but we'll see if he gets any real traction. I guess you don't like it because you think he has an actual chance at standing out? He would easily take Biden's base and then some.

I don't like him being in the primary at all. He does have a chance.. He is different compared to the rest of the field.

There is this idea that the democrats need a reasonable centrist to win moderates and middle america. I have seen this concept get pushed by the mainstream media. I don't buy it. Bloomberg will fail to energize progressives. Looking over some of his political positions.. He is basically a generic moderate democrat with more name value and money.

Even compared to Biden, I think Bloomberg is pretty moderate.

Middle America doesn't want socialism and free everything. They will actively take pride in voting for their plutocrat overlords to cripple their own economic interests. It was the moderates who won the House seats last year, and it's the moderates who just took two governerships in the heartland. I don't understand how you think that if the Dems want to expand their voting base in Middle America, then they need a progressive socialist carrying an enthusiastic AOC endorsement.

Nothing is free . That is the problem. People don't want to bust their asses to pay for the same shitty healthy care for themselves and anyone who doesn't want to bust their ass. That includes illegal immigrants which dems are pushing.
They also don't feel like paying for free college ( 4 year vacation ) fr anyone who wants to go. They also are against the way on babies in the name of women's rights.

And if he tanks there, he's pretty much fucked.

:hat
If he dies tomorrow, he's done a hell of a lot better than any 37 year old gay mayor from small town Indiana has any right to do. :thumbsup

Whatever happens in Iowa, right now Pete is a top tier candidate, he's currently in the same band as Warren, Biden and Bernie. And he's not in his fucking 70s, unlike seemingly every single person in a top job in either party.

Yeah, he has done surprisingly well for a gay local politician in a presidential race, especially in Iowa. I'll attribute that to a few things:
  • corporate donors
  • spending a shitload of money on campaigning in Iowa
  • military service
  • Midwestern identity
  • the intellectual appeal
  • maintaining a lukewarm political position that keeps moderates and undecided voters from shitting themselves
That said, fuck him. Merit of policies over youth, every time.

Yep.

And also being incredibly articulate, having an extremely Presidential demeanour (more than any of the other candidates), and being rational and pragmatic instead of naively idealistic.
