That's right. I don't care whether you stick your lubed-up centerpiece into the depths of this creature's nether regions on a nightly basis:

No Peking? No living.

I like Chinese buffet food. Some days it does not go well with my stomach, though. Burns a fucking hole right through it then I just spent $10-$15 to eat half a plate and some fruit.

Anyways, usually sit-down Chinese restaurants are expensive and not worth it like buffets.

I can confirm this never heard of this dish let alone tried it. But like most western dishes it's based on a legit Chinese dish that is made with Pork ribs.

I think the Peking style sauce would be pretty legit, however I don’t know if you’d find too many Chinese people dipping pork chops into egg batter or a rice or corn flour batter, deep frying it till crisp & then coating it in that sauce, more likely to just wok fry without the batter

No, having goggled 3 different recipes for it, pretty sure ketchup and worcestershire sauce isn't authentic Chinese, lol.

I occasionally get their Black bean sauce, while it's OK and clearly genuinely Chinese, it's not close to the real thing, when I make black bean sauce from scratch it tastes nothing like the stuff in the jar.

It's like buying a jar of Ragu or Dolmio pasta sauce and then thinking that's authentic Italian. It's clearly influenced by the real thing but is just mass produced version of the real thing.

But nothing wrong with it, as I say I buy their Black bean sauce and also their Doubanjiang sauce, even real Chinese people cut corners in the kitchen lol. Plus the whole" authentic" thing is overrated, sometimes the western bastardisation is just as good but in a different way. Food evolves and is influenced by other cultures and that's a good thing.
