I can confirm this never heard of this dish let alone tried it. But like most western dishes it's based on a legit Chinese dish that is made with Pork ribs.
No, having goggled 3 different recipes for it, pretty sure ketchup and worcestershire sauce isn't authentic Chinese, lol.I think the Peking style sauce would be pretty legit, however I don’t know if you’d find too many Chinese people dipping pork chops into egg batter or a rice or corn flour batter, deep frying it till crisp & then coating it in that sauce, more likely to just wok fry without the batter
I occasionally get their Black bean sauce, while it's OK and clearly genuinely Chinese, it's not close to the real thing, when I make black bean sauce from scratch it tastes nothing like the stuff in the jar.
Isn't that changing in China now though? China is becoming only second behind USA for fast food apparently consumption and obesity.
