Abner Mares could fight Ponce de Leon next according to Sillyman

Not a fight I particularly want to see for Abner but it's not a bad fight if it happens & is a respectable introduction to the Featherweight division. I'd rather see him stay at SBW though for the moment, I don't see the rush in him moving up yet. I'd like a Mares-Santa Cruz fight personally because I'd strongly favour Mares to beat him. Then he could get the Rigo-Donaire winner which is the superfight he deserves.
But as I say it's not an awful fight, Morel aside Mares has been on a great run of beating World class fighters and Ponce de Leon is still a class opponent.
