Absolutely no chance this happens any time soon, but how would it go? Would Bute get back to his boxing and outwork Abe? Or does the German/Arminian land the one jab to knock Bute into next week?

Real interesting one. Bute ought to outbox him but Lucy's dodgy whiskers and stamina could play right into Abraham's strengths. I'm gonna go for Abraham by late stoppage but it'd be a very good fight.

A year ago, I would have slapped myself for saying this, but I actually think Abe could be him. Bute will try to move and throw loads of punches while Abe covers up, but in reality, if he is hit once with that right hand, it really is good night.

I think I'll say Bute via wide UD. Froch showed even he could outbox Abe for every minute of every round, and I think Lucy does the same. But when he starts to tire, damn it would be interesting

Steilgitz has been knocked out twice by ordinary competiton, and he took Abraham right hand all night. Don't think Bute deserve's the reputation of a glassed chinned fighter just yet. Froch destroyed him, but Carl was a man on a mission that night :good

I'm pretty confident in putting Bute in the 'weak chin' category tbh. It's not just that he was battered and stopped by Froch, but he was fucked against Andrade, and was even shaken up by Magee (in the 4th or 5th IIRC). I'm not convinced at all that he can take Abe's right. He could outbox him tho.

When I look at Stieglitz, Abraham and Bute, I think the least of them is still a good fighter. There's always more of a rush to put a fighter down when he fails to get the W than to credit his opponent for beating a good fighter, it seems. Abraham and Bute have only lost to high caliber names. Stieglitz did get stopped by two decent fighters with a punch but I think he matured since that time also. I haven't watched him that closely. Anyway, I'd favour Bute in this one. I don't think Abraham can do what Froch did, but that also might have been the beginning of the end for Bute, and he may not need to do anything close to that to take him. Sometimes it only takes one of those to ruin a guy. As the TS said, it's not like the fight will be happening in the foreseeable future, but it's an interesting one, at least.

Bute on points, Abraham's power at SM is massively over-rated, he hit's hard but not concussive, his is very predicable as well, the reason Froch had a lot of success against Bute is because he let his hands go and bamboozled him with two fisted attacks, Bute looked lost in trying to cope, Abraham isn't going to do that, it will be the odd jab and at the end of the round throw a flurry, he's not hard to work out.

I thought he was piss poor the other night btw.

I reckon Bute would box his way to a wide decision in a fight that resembled Froch's victory over lil' Abe. Having said that, I wouldn't rule out a mini-crisis for Bute.

Bute would school Abraham, but ingot a feeling he will be damaged goods now. Maybe Abraham catches him, if he does, it's lights out IMO.

I'll go with Abraham out of bias. Always liked him.

If the fight goes the distance then Bute all day long, his movement and angles would be to much. After the Froch demolition I don't think he will make the mistake of standing in front of his opponent and going back to the ropes. Also there has to now be major question marks over his punch resistance, Froch seemed to shake him up with every right hand he threw. If Abraham lands a clean shot on his chin then Bute just like pretty much anyone goes to sleep. I just question what King Arthur has left, after his last fight I'd say very little. He's no longer a menacing proposition and has lost his air of invincibility.

I don't think Bute laid on the ropes vs Froch. I think he was pushed back and he didn't have the ability to get off them

I don't know, there was quite a few occasions he gave up centre ring and willingly went back to ropes and allowed Carl to come at him. Whether he thought he could draw him on to one of his counter lefts I don't know but he seemed comfortable going back there IMO. Well obviously until Froch started battering him with combinations.
