It's official now:

HBO has officially announced that Adrien Broner (24-0, 20KOs) will challenge WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21KOs) on November 17th. The championship match is going to take place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Broner makes the full leap to the lightweight ranks and wants his second divisional title. DeMarco is riding a good streak of wins with TKO victories over Jorge Linares, Miguel Roman and most recently John Molina.

I honestly hope DeMarco smashes him to bits to end the hype train.

Thoughts on how this one pans out?

I think DeMarco is going to batter him on the inside. He won't give Broner any time to get his flashy shit off. Up close, Broner is awful and gets hit far too often. He tries to be like Floyd with the shoulder roll, but he just isn't good enough to pull it off against someone as relentless as DeMarco.

Problem is, I don't really rate DeMarco either, particularly at long range. He was being soundly beaten by Linares before he caught up with him.

My pick may come down to who I don't rate the most

I really don't think DeMarco is an inside fighter at all. Tall guy with decent power who likes to keep it at distance unless he is behind and then he is forced to chase. He does have a solid jaw and fighters heart though as proven by Valero.

That's what I'm getting at. I don't think he is good enough to keep it at range against Broner. I think he'll be better trying to get inside him

It's a great match up. I don't think Broner has ever came up again a guy who towers over him before so I don't know how he'll adapt. We are going to learn a lot about just what Broner is made off. DeMarco got power and Broner didn't impress when he fought the last guy who had some pop (De Leon). I'm keeping an eye on the bookies for this one!
