Kell Brook vs Devon Alexander deal agreed for January 19 on Showtime, with 2 possible venues to be confirmed according to Oscar De La Hoya

Devon Alexander will make his mandatory IBF welterweight title defense against Kell Brook on January 19, live on Showtime, moving the Danny Garcia-Zab Judah bout to February 9 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Garcia-Judah had been set for January 19, but the New York State Athletic Commission turned down the date, as there's already an event set at the MSG Theater in New York City, with Gennady Golovkin scheduled to return on HBO.

I think Brook will win it on workrate and snap. It's not a great stylistic fight - but then it's a Devon Alexander fight, are we surprised? - but it's great that it has been made as either we find out where Brook is and it is not quite world level (although a Khan fight would still be fun!), or alternatively we get another British world champion and some fun fights down the track. I think Brook wins the belt.

brook will probably win imo, not something id put my house on, it will be a dire fight, but if brook adjusts he should be able to land enough to take it on pts, but he may get robbed

A Few ways it could go. DA is allowed to get away with his spoiling bs and messes the inexperienced Brook around and takes a decision.
More likely imo is that Brook picks him apart, he's just that much sharper than DA. Weather Brook gets the nod is anyone's guess,
Kotelnik schooled him with a the pretty basic approach of the one-two, blocking DA's attacks with gloves and forearms or simply allowing
DA to fall short by shuffling back half a step. It's astonishing that Alexander couldn't adjust to this but then again he didn't need to.
Kotelnik was robbed. Mathyse flat out beat DA up and was robbed. At least pos Lederman scored it for LM this time, if only by a point.

Think Brook might be able to get the better of Devon, but he is going to need a huge effort to win on the judge's scorecards in the States.

I think he might land enough that they have little choice but to give it to him, plus is it harder to rob a Brit, with the various hookups, than it is some of the more politically minority countries? But fortunately, I don't see the cards being needed.

Does anyone think Brook can win by decision?

I might be going overboard but after the Kotelnik/Matthyse decisions and that scorecard for Mares I think it's a non starter.
Well I don't think it's in St Louis so that's a positive. I'm not sure that Alexander would be gifted as blatant a robbery as the two you mentioned
but if it's reasonably close you got to expect a DA win.
