Luis DeCubas Jr., the co-manager of WBC interim-welterweight champion Robert Guerrero (30-1-1, 18KOs), confirmed an earlier report on BoxingScene.com - and states that "a deal is in place" to fight former two-time beltholder Andre Berto (28-1, 22KOs) on November 24th at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. HBO will televise.

Because of an injury, and a fight falling through, Berto has been inactive since last September's TKO victory over Jan Zaveck. Prior to a June rematch with Victor Ortiz, Berto tested positive for norandrosterone, which canceled the planned fight. Berto was later cleared by the California State Athletic Commission.

DeCubas states that both Berto and Guerrero have agreed to have USADA [United States Anti-Doping Agency] regulate a random drug testing protocol.

"We have a deal in place to fight Berto. Robert always said that he's willing to fight anyone and I think it's going to be a great fight. Robert and Andre Berto have agreed to USADA testing. They want to keep the sport clean. I expect a lot of action because both of these boxers come to fight," DeCubas told BoxingScene.com.

"I want to thank [Golden Boy Promotions CEO] Richard Schaefer and Golden Boy for their efforts in securing this great match. After we take care of business on November 24, the sky will be the limit and boxing will have a new superstar."

This past July, Guerrero moved up by two weight divisions to win a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Selcuk Aydin. Guerrero is a former featherweight, super featherweight and WBO/WBA interim-lightweight champion.

The winner will find himself in a very lucrative position, and certainly a top-tier candidate for a major fight in 2013.

I can't see Guerrero holding Berto off for the 12 rounds. I think Berto stops him late. Too big IMO

I think Guerrero is a far, far better boxer than Andre Berto. But, I slightly favour Berto to stop him, and physically be overwhelming early to mid-rounds. Guerrero/Bradley was a much more intriguing match-up, to me.

I strongly favour Guerrero here, Berto is seriously poor imo. Guerrero to have some worrying moments early but will out box him and win a clear decision.
Guerrero couldn't outbox Aydin. He wa forced to stand and trade with him, and took heavy punishment in return. Berto is bigger, probably hits harder, and is better than the Turk. Can't see how Guerrero beats him on that form.

He also looked fleshy to me at 147. Why he is still campaigning there after his last fight I don't no

I feel as though Berto's bulk should be enough to rough up Guerrero, he just isn't big enough to hang with the big welterweights. That said, I feel as though Berto is the sort of fighter to suffer with ring rust, so he might start sluggish enough, for enough rounds, that Guerrero can build a lead and then try to hang on. Could be a tense last few rounds for him, though, as Berto starts swinging. The difference in weight on fight night could be immense.

I favour Berto here too. Guerrero is arguably the more skilled and better boxer but I don't think Berto with his athleticism is gonna be easy to do so, and eventually I think the size and power will take control and he'll end up forcing the stoppage around 7-9.

Berto will have too much for Guerrero - will stop him late IMO.

Berto then becomes mando for Floyd and that fight happens April/May next year.
I expect Floyd to stay at 154 for the time being. He'll probably fight Alvarez

Can't say for sure what he'll do. This fight is good. Two well known guys, but like the cynics say, I don't want to hear anything about PEDs. The man tests positive and come right back and get a "title" fight...

I don't believe Berto took PEDs. The trace they found in him was a billionth of a grain of salt. And some steroids are produced naturally in the body. I'd say he is clean

Another point is that he tested positive for nandrolone, which apparently stays detectable in your system so long (like 18 months) no sane athlete would try and use it to improve their own performance.

Berto wins this. The size disparity will be huge and Guerrero isn't elusive enough to neutralise it

I'm surprised so many are favouring Berto to be too big and to overpower Guerrero. I initially favoured him too but Guerrero's always been tall and rangy at the lower weights so it's not as though thereis a huge size disparity in him moving to 147.

I couldn't believe the bookies had Berto favourite either so I had to stick a bit on the Ghost. I've never been a fan of him but he's proven me wrong before and Berto really isn't that good. He's stiff and although can be devastating in explosive bursts, isn't consistent enough for me. It wouldn't shock me to see Berto win but I think Guerrero is a live opponent and should be slight favourite IMO.
