Dirrell Is such a frustrating fighter, I do think he is a talented boxer and could easily win a alphabet belt (Can't bring myself to call it a world title) but I genuinely believe he lacks a fighting heart. He needs to decide once and for all what he wants to do and quit wasting everybody's time.
Regardless of the outcome of this one I don't think we'd have seen Froch vs Dirrell II.
TV wouldn't have been interested, either here or in the States.
Given that Dirrell wouldn't fight Ward for big bucks, and faked a brain injury in order to get out of it, he's not going to fight Froch for brass buttons.
Epitaph: Remember that one time he almost won that title once....?
Alternative epitaph: No boxer could run like a clumsy, scared, newly born colt like that dude. He was an ATG. At that.
I think that Dirrell likes the idea of being a championship-level boxer more than the reality of the actual hard work. Plus at the moment, Froch's stock is sky high, and a lot of people think that Dirrell was robbed against him, so Dirrell can dine out on that a bit, fighting someone might just damage his reputation. I just don't see him developing the commitment to make a sustained success of this.
