It's funny isn't it.

Ward has gone from being this quiet, humble guy who "didn't go in for trash talk", butter wouldn't melt.

Now, every other day I hear him or his team slagging someone off.

usually it's someone making more money than him, I think it's starting to get to him.

Skilled he might be, but entertaining he is not, he's been frozen out of the Kessler/Bute/Froch triangle where all the money is at 168, his "mega fight" with Dawson drew flies, Martinez has told him to piss off, and there isn't much else on the horizon.

Oh well.

To be fair Ward didn't start this. Mayweather randomly came out saying Ward doesn't sell tickets (who in America does) and that Adrien Broner's more famous than him.

I agree with Floyd tbh though (and I rarely do)

Like I say we all wax lyrical about Wards talent and skill but the fact is he's fucking boring, in the ring and out of it, people won't buy tickets for that.

Broner is a cock, but he's "interesting" outside the ring and can be explosive in it.

Like I say above, Ward is in a tough spot, really the best he can hope for is a Hopkins like career, long and steady earning, he's not destined for PPV or mega fights.

pretty much dead on. Ward doesn't have to turn into a dick, just show a bit of personality, have a laugh on screen for once

If Ward could actually make 160 (which i dont think he can) would it be that ridiculous a fight? Floyd could do Middle easily i think but i doubt Ward could get to 166 let alone 160

No more needs to be said.

Size isn't everything

I just think a welterweight who has fought and won a title at light-middleweight can fight at middleweight, and super-middleweight if he could manage could fight there too. Ward would win, but the effects of draining to middle might make it interesting if nothing else

There is a huge difference between guys over 200lb being bigger/smaller than each other and something like Floyd and Ward

true but if we just had 8 weight classes then Floyd might even have already ventured into Middleweight who knows, the real problem is that Ward is such a big supermiddle, if he was say Froch's size then there would be the possibility for this matchup

Is ward bigger than Froch?

I mean Froch is taller, and he's lean as fuck and looks about 6% bodyfat at 168. At 160 I think he might die of starvation.

by contrast Ward is fairly "meaty" at 168 and could probably shift 8lbs witout too many problems

true i just used Froch off the top of my head as he walks around at not too far off the weight he fights at, no idea if he could make 160, but it Ward could make middle with not too many problems then a p4p welter against a p4p middle surely isnt a mad fight to make?

There's probably more chance of Ward moving up than ever making 160. Floyd has never even impressed me as a 154lber, I have no interest in seeing him above that weight.
This. Ward fought Light Heavy in the Olympics - I very much doubt he could make 160.
