This fight has been rescheduled more times than I care to remember, Arreola last fought over a year ago, at the end of a run of journeymen since losing clearly to Thomas Adamek back in 2010. Stiverne last fought 11 Months ago, and has never faced a contender level opponent.
Both guys are largely irrelevant to the current scene, having avoided the likes of Pulev, Helenius, Fury and the other new breed of contenders.
Their fight has been cancelled AGAIN, and as of now has no set date for reschedule as they don't know when Arreola will recover from his "Bronchitis"
However, somehow these two are in position to fight for some sort of WBC "interim" title or some such nonsense, basically meaning that if Vitali retires, the winner will be gifted the WBC title.
It seems obvious to me, that they are trying to push this fight back until Vitali retires, they have already stalled it for 4 months now.
I think it's an insult to the guys who are active, if Fury beats Cunningham, he will then face Pulev for the SECONDARY spot behind Arreola/Stiverne winner.
Lets say Fury wins, why should he have to beat Kevin Johnson, Steve Cunningham and Kubrat Pulev to get into SECOND place behind Arreola?
I think at least 2/3 of those guys BEAT Arreola the way Adamek did.
Obvious Corruption by Jose Suliman, just wanting to put the green strap around a big, fat, greasy mexican waist.
Hopefully Vitali doesn't retire, Arreola will probably cry again.
