Really surprised by this. I heard he was on the verge of signing with another company in the UK. That was only a month ago.

Not sure about this to be honest. Reckon he should have signed with Big Eddie myself. Best of luck to him though. I worry about his intangibles in the pro game though, not sure how hard he hits and he was on the canvas a lot in the Olympics...

Personally I think it is a great move for him. I see them doing everything they can to make him a success. He is going to be one of the focal points of their UK shows and I think they'll push him in the US to show others the benefit of signing with GB.

I thought GBP had some sort of deal with boxnation? But khan has a deal with sky and if he's gonna be with GBP uk then it'll probably be sky as well.
Either way I think ogogo will do well as a pro but I think he looks a bit chinny

I can't wait until he fights on a US card so I can say "Wake me up before Ogogo".

heh heh heh
hahahaha... reminds me off tony oakey's 'do the oakey cokey' for somereason... fans gonna be chanting that 'wake me up before ogogo' if hes successful...

i thought gbp had a deal with boxnation, i reckon they will tie a deal in somewhere with frank warren or boxnation, they know they are treading on all the uk promotors toes in england, and if all the promoters got together they could make life hell for them...

Steve Lillis

Ricky Hatton is being lined up to train Olympic bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo.

BoxNation understands that the London 2012 hero will spend a week training at 'The Hitman's' gym on the outskirts of Manchester to see if a partnership could work.

Ogogo, 24, has turned professional with American promotional outfit Golden Boy and will make his debut in late April or early May.

Golden Boy have given their blessing to the Lowestoft boxer teaming up with former two-weight world champion Hatton, who is Britain's most popular fighter ever.

Ogogo, who is the face of fast food chain Subway, and starred in reality TV shows, captured public imagination during last summer's Olympics.

He shocked world number one Evhen Khytrov in his first contest and reached the semi-final stage where he lost to eventual gold medallist Esquiva Falcao Florentino.

Hatton is carving out a successful career as a trainer and his greatest success so far has come with European light-middleweight champion Sergey Rabchenko.

He is also promoting his stable of fighters and is currently seeking a new TV deal for them.
