Read my full report of the fight here, with a round up of the undercard action coming shortly - http://checkhookboxing.com/content.php?718-Bristol-s-Haskins-wins-British-title-with-TKO-win-over-WardBristol's Lee Haskins picked up the vacant British bantamweight title tonight in front of his home crowd with a 5th round TKO win over Martin Ward.
The event marked the first time in 15 years since the city had held a championship fight, and the passionate crowd at the City Academy were treated to an action-packed main event.
The end came with just 22 seconds left of the 5th when referee Mark Green rightly stepped in to stop the contest after Ward was hurt and unable to defend himself on the ropes.
