I don't remember that. I remember Froch saying Ward beat him fair and square :confDonaire is just doing what most fighters do after a high profile loss. He's convincing himself he didn't really lose.
He also knows he wasn't in the best shape and is embarrassed he took his opponent too lightly.
Froch made the same complaint about Ward.
He said that but also said there was something up in training but wouldn't disclose it. He wasn't really making excuses, just saying he thought their was a reason behind the loss.I don't remember that. I remember Froch saying Ward beat him fair and square :conf
:lol:CompuFeet says Donaire won.
TBF their was only a couple of points in that fight, I had Dirrell by a point but it wasn't a massive robbery. Most people have Rigo by 10-2 in this one, I've yet to speak to anyone who has picked Donaire so this makes it a bit more stupid.
Was that the system the yanks trialled in the Froch v Dirrell fight?
Personally I can't stand excuses from any fighter - nobody wants to hear that shit. I cringe every time Froch mentions volcanic ash clouds. Then he said he though he could have won, close scorecards, Ward didn't want to fight, etc.
Or let's pick the Kessler fight. Volcano? Bad judges? Familiar.
The point is that all fighters make excuses. Why bother criticising them for it?
It's not as if Rigo stopped him.
I just ignore the post fight nonsense. If Donaire really believes that he'll look for the rematch and prove he had a bad night. He's tough and smart enough to do better.Personally I can't stand excuses from any fighter - nobody wants to hear that shit. I cringe every time Froch mentions volcanic ash clouds.
Why not just say the better man won on the night - next time I'd do things differently?
For me that's the more dignified option.
Do you think he'll rematch Rigo. Would that be a fight you'd like to see?I just ignore the post fight nonsense. If Donaire really believes that he'll look for the rematch and prove he had a bad night. He's tough and smart enough to do better.
The instant he came out flat footed I knew he was going to struggle. He likely knows that too.
He strikes me as a Ray Leonard type. He'll learn from it and improve.

Yes. He deserves the chance to see if he can do better. He didn't have to fight Rigo, so it's only fair.Do you think he'll rematch Rigo. Would that be a fight you'd like to see?
If it was a stoppage or he'd been smacking Donaire around the ring, I'd agree. But I think there's grounds for another go round. No need for a rematch IMO.
