Artur Beterbiev will make the first defence of his WBO world Light-Heavyweight title against the mandatory challenger from the United Kingdom, Anthony "The Beast" Yarde. Announced following Yarde's 3rd round destruction of Koykov last night, this will be the Brit's second attempt at a world title, his previous attempt to wrestle the WBO title from an Eastern European champion of course resulted in him being knocked out.

This time though the challenger will be on home soil as the undefeated Beterbiev looks to upset the crowd as he also puts his other two titles on the line.

A good opportunity for the younger Yarde who will now have the extra experience from his previous championship fight and also the extra man in the corner on the night. Add to that home advantage and it's perhaps now or never. Looking forward to this one.

Decorated amateur just turned pro is added to the card.

Teenage heavweight Moses Itauma will make his pro debut in the first of a planned 8 for 2023. He says he wants to become the youngest heavyweight champion in history and so he has just over 2 years to do it. I hope they don't throw him in with Dubois and think that'll do because it won't, Tyson had a full title so Itauma will need to collect one also. I wouldn't be surprised if as DDD's contract winds down they feed him to Itauma and then let the contract lapse, Itauma's the new heavyweight hope in the stable no doubt about it.

Well I've only seen him about 8 times but never past 3 so whilst his achievements at amateur level are unquestionably great, I don't know if he's got heart, stamina, a beard, even the punching power, the stoppages I saw were due to the ref flying in in typical amateur style, they're never stoppages in the pros so I'm not ready to get carried away. His footwork is probably the only reliable thing I can say will be carried over to the pros and he has got quick feet and hands but the WBO Cruiserweight champion saying that Itauma gave him the toughest spar of his life is probably the most promising endorsement so far of this teenager's ability

It's fight week and it's it not on PPV. Let's take a look a look at the start of week odds

Beterbiev an overwhelming 1/10 favourite to retain the unified crown in Anthony's back Yarde
If you like the draw you can get 20x your stake
And you'll currently get 5/1 if you fancy the upset

We'll see how those numbers look on fight night but even at 5/1 I can't do it, I can't see anything but a Beterbiev win on Saturday but I'll be rooting for the Brit

About 4 hours to go before the bell for this main event, a final look at the betting odds have me a little confused compared to what they were on Monday but what is clear is the champion is expected to retain his title as 6 of us here also predict.

Beterbiev now 1/6, Yarde 9/2 and 33/1 for the draw.

Let's go Yarde, the whole country is behind you, well all except Callum Johnson by his own admission.

Champion: 12st 6lb 8oz Challenger: 12st 6lb 4oz
