Not seen much buzz about this card, but both fights are interesting for different reasons.

Bellew-Chilemba

Bellew is doing a good job of rebuilding from his close lose to Cleverly, easily having a better run of opposition since. Seems like Hearn and Bellew are keen to go down the WBC route and look to secure a fight with Chad Dawson at some point in the near future. Chilemba represents a good challenge and each fighters' style should prove for a close fight.

Prediction: Bellew UD.

Crolla-Matthews II

The first contest was one of the domestic fights of the year in 2012 and this one should be no different. I see this as another solid 50:50, since the first fight both men have had failed attempts in the same Prizefighter tournament and will be looking to re-establish themselves as two of the best domestic lightweights we have in Britain.

Prediction: Crolla TKO

How do you see these two going?

I still haven't seen Chilemba fight yet so it's hard for me to call that one. It looks a tricky fight on paper.

Crolla/Mathews should be good again. I think Crolla should just edge it but it could be another hard fight.

FYI - I was planning on doing a proper breakdown when I started this thread, but then decided it was too much effort.

I'm off to watch Chilemba's draw with Thomas Ouistinwhatsisface.

Chilemba is a good fighter, all you have to do is watch his previous fights to realise that. Very hard to pick a winner here but I'll go with Bellew close points win, this is arguably the toughest fight of his career.

Crolla to stop Matthews late on.

Great card.

I still rate Syllakh quite a bit really, in fact I don't think that much less of him even with the Grachev fight. Just a thing he'll hopefully learn from rather than let it hamper him moving forward, because he was comfortably beating Grachev without much effort before being an utter knobber.

Just has to stop being a knobber. All a mentality thing, being a knobber.

Yeah Syllakh, that's the one. I don't think he's that bad either tbh. Grachev wasn't bad against Bute so it's not a really bad loss on his record.

He's no Tommy Karpency though that's for sure.

I don't think Syllakh is done for or anything, it's just funny how his name was always mentioned in any thread relating to Cleverly, or any other top LHW, then all of sudden it was like, "Right, we'll just brush this one under the carpet."

Big test for Tony imo. Chilemba is boxer with some lateral movement and he certainly isn't as easy to hit or as predictable as his previous foes. Interesting to see how the Bomber plays it. He'll have the edge in power but he's going to have to work a LOT harder to land and he may worry about tiring if he loads up too early. Chilemba can be sneaky as well so Tony will have to watch he doesn't get himself out of position too.
Looking forward to it!
