Thought it might be an interesting idea to have a boxer of the month poll running on here.

Here's a list of all notable results for last month: http://checkhookboxing.com/content.php?311-Results-July-2012

And these are the nominees:

Wladimir Klitschko - defended World Heavyweight Championship yet again with a 6th round knockout over Tony Thompson
Nonito Donaire - unified the WBO and IBF Super Bantamweight belts with a tough 12 round decision win over Jeffrey Mathebula
David Haye - stopped British rival Dereck Chisora in the 5th round of an exciting heavyweight blockbuster
Danny Garcia - upset the odds to stun Amir Khan with a thrilling 4th round knockout to become Light-Welterweight Champion of the World
Adrien Broner - controversially came in well over the 130 lb weight limit before taking apart Vicente Escobedo in 5 rounds
Robert Guerrero - jumped up 2 weight divisions to win a 12 round battle with Selcuk Aydin, pushing himself high up the 147 lb rankings

Any more nominees are welcome, just leave a comment and if they're decent I'll add them to the vote. You can vote on whatever criteria you like, but please note that my idea is for this award to go to the most outstanding boxer of the month. Voting will be closed on Sunday 5th August.

I'm also gonna start polls for 'Prospect of the Month', 'Fight of the Month', 'Knockout of the Month' and a maybe a few more soon as well.

I couldn't decide between Haye and Garcia, I decided to go with Garcia simply because he was the underdog and won a belt for his win.

Guerrero did ok. He did jump up two divisions and embeat a good contender, so he is certainly up there.

But I've gone for Garcia. A massive underdog going in, he was cut in the 2nd but produced a brilliant display to knock khan out. As I said in my article, it was not a lucky shot. Danny started timing Khan at the end of the second, went to the body early in the third, before the left hook landed. In the next round he didn't windmill. Instead, he conserved his energy, picked his shots, and knocked Amir out.

Great display
