I love this fight, 2 face first brawlers, similar size and both with solid chins. Many reasons why it might not happen though.

If it does go ahead I couldn't pick a winner right now. Rios might be better without struggling so much to make weight or he might still be finding it hard, and against someone his own size which he's never had to deal with before. But it's fair to say Rios is the best guy Alvarado has faced by far and he won't gas out and fall apart like Prescott (but can he even outbox him like Prescott did? Probably not).

Yeah it's a hard fight to call, I agree with everything Bajingo said.

Class fight, cant be anything else but a FOTY contender. Alvarado is if anything a little bigger than Rio's, very durable and hits hard. Rio's hasnt faced a fighter that he didnt have those physical advantages over. Im going to go out on a limb here and say Alvarado stops him late, most likely from an accumulation of punishment :yep

I'm predicting an upset here.

I don't think the extra weight will help rios because usually as bullies move up, they become the victims.

he was a beast at lightweight but was terribly exposed by abril.

I think Alvorado stops him late, if he can wion this though, the lww division suddenly becomes one of the deepest again.
