Perceived to possibly be the most evenly matched fight for the remainder of the year.

Lucas sets his punches up better wheres DANI relies on taking the openings when opponents throw.

Case in point of Lucas offensive ability to set your ass up. Lamont finally moves towards his own right to get away from Lucas straight right to the body. Lucas feints to hold Lamont still for a split second and gain ground (cut the ring off). Then Lucas throws a phony looping right that misses and has Lamont concerned about protecting his head. Lamont moves to his left towards another set of ropes. Lucas feints, measures with his jab, and throws the right downstairs to open up Lamont for the grazing left hook that put him on his ass.

DANI has the better defense, jab, and long distance boxing. He didn't allow Zab to get into the fight unlike Lucas. It wasn't until later when DANI had a lapse in focus that Zab got going.

DANI shut off in the 10th or 11th round after Zab landed a nice left and then right. Lucas took Zab's counter left uppercut in the fourth round like it was no big deal.

Lucas is very dependent on his right hand downstairs. Neutralize this punch and he begins to look like an ordinary slugger. Devon Alexander did a good job at minimizing this shot.

DANI is the rangier man and should keep this fight behind his jab, looking to counter Lucas left with long rights.

DANI by competitive decision.

Notes taken from seriously watching Lucas-Lamont and casually watching Lucas-Judah, Lucas-Alexander, and DANI-Zab.

and Trout beat Alvarez + Murray beat Sergio

Nice and welcome to the forum :good

one question dont you think Garcia has a tendency to get caught static and is happy to trade? You reckon that might cause him problems against someone with the head movement, timing, chin and power of Matthysse? My worry for Danny would be at some point he'll want to slug it out a bit, but although he's got good timing and power in his left hook and straight right himself, Matthysse edges him out there and would really take advantage

Hi Jamie

Lucas would get the better of DANI imo if they were to trade. Better firepower and chin like you said. He also has better punching technique. I don't think DANI should trade with Lucas based off the trading I saw in DANI-Zab. Zab rocked him plenty in the exchanges, so DANI wasn't in complete control.

DANI's best chance is to use his boxing and counters. Let the counters go when Lucas is committing to his bodyshots

For me, Garcia is too easy to hit.

Three things that impress me about Garcia are:
1) His power is clearly very good
2) He has good timing and can unleash huge counters
3) (something that is often overlooked) he has trained reflex punches into his head in that he knows to throw and where the person will be even if he isn't looking at the target and he does so automatically. (see Khan or the Judah knockdown)

However, his defence is pretty weak and he isn't much of a mover. Matthysse would go in there moving his head and his hands and walking through some shots so he could let his punches off. Garcia doesn't have the defence to stop all Matthysse's attacks. I see it being even until Garcia gets backed up to the ropes and an exchange breaks out, then Matthysse has the upper hand.

Good breakdown though leon.

There'll be rematch unless DANI gets rushed up to 147 for a Mayweather fight
