I had to look up this fight to see where it was held and found it took place in Omaha. I can't imagine any venue in the States that would not use brand new gloves for every bout on their card for the night------especially one that involved a World Championship bout.
I know sometimes gloves get damaged during a fight, but in all the years I've been following the sport, I've never seen BOTH gloves suffer damage. I've seen damaged gloves being removed and a new one being used to replace it during the bout.
Plus, almost all the bouts I've seen for years have had an official in the corners of the combatants to assure that things are being done on the up and up between rounds.
