I reckon this would be an absolute cracker, with Froch winning a decision. Both men love a tear up and Chavez would be the bigger man on the night. I can see Froch boxing like he did against Abraham but with more aggression.

How do you see this one playing out? :think

Froch would knock him out in the later rounds.

The one worry is that Froch would oblige him in a fistfight, where Carl often comes up short.

McCracken would no doubt have a gameplan sorted mind.

Chavez hasn't faced anyone as skilled, as awkward or as powerful as Froch, which could be telling. He's largely had it all his own way, with not much of a stylistic variance across his opponent.

That's obviously different to Froch, who's come up against pretty much everything.

Froch decision but Chavez to put a more credible performance then most would think.Chavez has to fight Martinaz now imo and i`m starting to give Chavez a little bit of chance in that fight,he will after all would be about to 2 weight divisons above Martinez on fight night.

Chavez won't be able to use his weight to bully Froch and as you said Froch has shown in the past that he does have the ability to box.

I think Froch would make Chavez look very limited and coast to a wide decision.

froch would beat him, great fight though:thumbsup

but how would froch be the smaller man:think,he is ripped to fuck at supermiddle, not a ounce of fat on him,is a bit taller than chavez who aint fought over 160,froch is by no means a small super middle,i have no idea where people get this from, ive seen a few people comment on this:think

Great tear up but Frochy dictates with his jab after a ferocious start, limits Chavez building his tempo, and lays leather on him in the late rounds, stopping him, probably on his feet under a barrage.

At the Azteca :yep

Because Chavez has come in at 180 for 'middleweight' fights.

Chavez has come to the ring bigger than Froch in his last 5 fights or so

(shruggs my shoulders) you should know as well as anybody flea that froch could easily come in at that on fight night.

again, how anyone cn say he is a lot bigger than froch is beyond me mate, chavez is a big middle, but ripped he is 159 possible smaller, forch would never make middle, unless he chopped of a leg .

I think Froch could make Middle and I'd pick him to be the man at the weight, if he was 168 two weeks out for the Bute fight I'm sure he could drop 8 lbs if only for the weigh in. Saying that, SMW is clearly where Froch is comfortable so no need to drain himself - his methods of making weight and training have served him very well so far.

This is true. Carl is good at staying at his weight and not needing to drain for weigh ins but that's because he stays absolutely ripped. You'd struggle to boil that much off Froch without giving him some sort of disease first.

I don't think Chavez coming in at 180 would be any sort of problem for Froch and I don't see him being stronger than Froch in there.

His weight at the moment is a massive advantage at 160 that he utilises. Against Froch that advantage is gone. No chance in hell can he use his size to bully the cobra.

Being heavier doesn't always equate to being stronger, especially when you factor in the fact that you've weakened yourself to make the lower weight.

Hatton was up at 160 against Collazo and it didn't do him any favours. In the low 150's he'd have fared better.

I dunno, obviously we don't know if JCC Jr would be comfortable at 168lbs or not but personally I'll never be fully convinced of a Froch victory in any fight where his opponent is one who excels on the inside.

Froch by stoppage. Chavez is still a limited fighter, an improved fighter, but still limited. His only advantage at middleweight is he outweighs his opponents by 20 pounds. Moving up just one weight class pretty much negates it. I'd take Froch by stoppage.
