Mexican KO artist Julio "Pollito" Ceja (24-0, 22 KOs) could face Britain's Jamie McDonell (20-2-1, 9 KOs) for IBF bantamweight world title vacated by Leo "Terremto" Santa Cruz. Ceja is rated #3 and McDonnell is rated #1. The #2 slot is vacant. "We are negotiating with representatives of McDonell," said Oswaldo Kuchle, Director of Promociones del Pueblo. We can't say anything yet. The fight could happen in the UK, but we'll do everything to get it in Mexico. This is great news that we were expecting. We know that Ceja has the ability and the qualities to be world champion. We'll give him all our support because we know that he'll be the new champion."
