The commission members grilled Chavez, who was speaking by telephone from Mexico due to visa problems, before deciding on the punishment. The suspension is retroactive to September, when he fought Martinez, so Junior is out until June 15. The fine is 30% of his $3 million purse. He must also test clean before his next fight.
"He must also test clean before his next fight." Well, yeah, that's the idea.
