Haven't watched it yet nor do I have time to today but I assume it was a good one given the characters involved

Khan vs Lo Greco press conference was more exciting. Was expecting alot more.

You could ask what’s the relevance any weight division limit. Fighters normally rehydrate 10 to 20lbs after a weighin.

Relevance for this t fight is to weight drain Chris Eubank jr. 157lb. Who struggles to make 160lbs as it is. And then make it hard for him to fully rehydrate the following day. By setting a limit of 162lbs.

The standard rehydration clauses normally be 10lbs . This 5lbs limit makes things a lot tougher it means Eubank can’t fully re-hydrate right after the fight and will have stay dehydrated until the second weighin the following morning.

And for the record Conor Benin’s walk around weight is 168lb’s.

Anyway if Eubank jr gets whooped cus of this then there is no excuses. He agreed to this and signed the contract.

I don't understand why Eubank even took this fight. Beating Benn means nothing, and the weight-draining thing is just shyte piled on top of a nothing sandwich.

It's not a title fight, so Eubank should just miss the weight on purpose, and pay whatever the penalty is. What are they gonna' do, cancel the fight?
There is a clause in the contract according to Benns Coach Tony Simms. The financial penalty only applies to the first 1.5 lbs. If Eubanks weighs more the 158.5lbs, the fight will be cancelled same applies I presume for the next day re-hydration weigh in.

Eubank jr seems to have the same smugness about him that Oscar De Lahoya had when he agreed to fight Pacquaio at 145lbs, He looked like a ghost of himself.

Eubanks jr has taken the fight for the huge pay check biggest payday of his career this will be a very big fight in the U.K. ...And he was in the U.K. Tabloids this week saying he wants to fight Jake Paul.

Eubank is unlikely to get this kind of money fighting for a title, and even less likely to beat the likes of Charlo or Andrade.

I think he is cashing out he is not getting any younger...If he beats Benn. He will be chasing the Youtubers.

I think Junior could hit the jackpot here if he wins. Kell Brook might be tempted back to fight the winner of Eubank vs Benn. And Liam Smith, and BJ Saunders are also keen to fight him. So back to back paychecks.

Kell Brook has been training.

As for Conor Benn he reminds me of a young James Kirkland.

Not sure how he well he holds a shot. But if he can handle Juniors power for a few rounds. The fight should be exciting. While it lasts.

Part one of the training camps documentary is now up. It is an interesting watch.

Obviously no where near the slick production quality of Show Time all access or HBO 24/7.

The low budget aspect of it adds to its charm makes it kinda of quirky and very British.

Sort of like one of them Louis Theroux documentaries.

Woke this morning to see Eubank sr trending. Having failed to get the fight cancelled , he has now called on fans to boycott his sons fight with Conor Benn saying the catch weight is dangerous his son might suffer serious and fatal injuries.

I hope Junior. does not pursuade his dad to be in the for Conor Benn fight.
Chris Senior is crazy enough to throw In the towel in the first round.

You could be forgiven for not knowing this fight is even on.
Yep...This fight would have been huge if it was on Sky Sports here in the U.K. they would have hyped things to the max. It would have been in the news cycle non stop.

DAZN don’t seem to have spent much money marketing this fight just left it to EDDIE. As it stands don’t think it’s going to do as well as it would have on SKY Sports.

I thought this fight would generate more hype then Khan vs Brook does’nt seem like it has.

Read Chris Eubank Sr has been admitted into the Langford Mental Health Hospital, East Sussex.

Assuming it is true, I sure hope he is okay.
Non of the MSM are reporting this story. Don’t know the truth.

According to the above article he discharged himself from the Hospital after one nights stay. Saying he wanted to attend his sons fight.

And the scans show he was prescribed Vitamin D. Not sure what to make of it patients who need to be sectioned are normally prescribed anti-depressants or anti-psychotics.

In any case hope he mentally recovers this fight clearly has him spooked. And if he does attend the fight there is a high likelihood he might try to sabotage the fight. Either throw in the towel or enter the ring resulting in a disqualification loss for his son.

He seems convinced his son is in fatal danger.

Older members will remember the trainer Darkey Smith rushing the ring and shoving the referee resulting in the DQ loss for his son Stephen Smith vs Ricky Hatton.
That event effectively ended his sons career.

Looks like we are going to get some controversy this weekend.

Awful fight. And to add even more negativity, I just read a headline stating that Benn has failed a drugs test on his A sample but that the fight will still go ahead as they won't check a 'B' until after the fight. Not sure how much if any of that is true but doesn't sound great for an already crappy promotion.
Explains the angry outbursts by Conor Benn in most of his interviews clearly roid rage. Apparently Eubank jr stills wants to go ahead cus he does not want to miss out on the biggest paycheck of his career.

And promoters TV companies don’t wanna lose loads of money.

Given the circumstances hopefully Eubank jr is smart enough to insist the rehydration limit is removed in order for the fight to go ahead or better still the fight should be done at the full 160lb middleweight limit. No catch weight.

Here is the article in the Daily Mail.

Sad stuff. I'm not always a reliable barometer, but I'd be astonished if this sells much on PPV. I'll just look up the result late at night and I usually buy pretty much everything!
Not sure how well it does the Face Off video from the original press conference has 1.3 million views on YouTube.

But the views for the subsequent videos on the Matchroom channel on YouTube. Have gotten lower and lower.

Most people will be buying cus of the nostalgia. Despite Eddies meanderings this fight has nowhere near the interest that Khan vs Brook had.

They really needed Eubank snr to sell this fight. He has refused to participate. Nigel Benn in his 50’s no longer has the charisma.

To put things in perspective.

Amir Khan has 2.2million followers on twitter.

Kell Brook has 513 thousand.

Eubank jr 400 thousand.

Conor Benn 169 thousand.

Benn is around about the same mark as BJ Saunders. So after all the money Matchroom have pumped into him. He is still no nowhere near being a face of British boxing.

With the failed drugs he will be even less popular. Interesting to see how Tony Bellew reacts considering he has been vocal about drugs test now that one of his mates has tested positive.

Despite the Boards announcement Eddie Hearn is still trying to forge ahead.
This a super Slime ball move even by Eddies slimeball standards.

Hope Chris Junior had good lawyers and is able to take Matchroom to the cleaners.

From what I am reading on social media both Matchroom and the British Boxing Board have known about this for weeks. And were hoping to keep it underwraps until the fight was done.

Its only because the Daily Mail got hold of the story that everythings comeout. And board are trying to prohibit.

Wonder what line Eddie is going to come out with. Conor did not cheat he was just trying to get pregnant.

Seems like this will be all decided at a legal level. Sounds like this will be all done to technicalities. EH is saying exactly what I would expect, he has millions on the line so he isn't going to give up especially if Benn isn't technically suspended or has failed a UKAD test.
If you are right and MR/EH knew for a while seems odd to risk this much while not understanding what BBBoC's reaction will be.
I'm guessing it will be decided one way or the other in the next 24 hrs as it will cost MR even more if they let this go any closer to the fight night and then have to cancel last minute.
Its confirmed by Kalle Sauerland that this has been known about since the last week of August.

If the shoe was on the other foot Eddie "Slime Ball" Hearns. Would be singing a different tune.

Only bigger Slime Ball in all this is Kalle Sauerland. As Eubank Jrs promoter he should be looking out for his own fighters interests. I hope Eubank sues that clown as well.

I'm 48 and followed both the dads when I was younger, so I'm prime nostalgia territory - and Connor Benn does nothing for me and this fight even less. With Jr then showing about 1% of the ambition of his father and wasting his best years on posturing and mucking about I have gone off him, too. So I'm not sure that the nostalgia vote will save Hearn on this one.
Seen the latest update - hope that the Board sticks to its guns and prevents the fight. A dangerous precedent is set if it now goes ahead despite their statement.
I am 49 and like you I won’t be paying for it either.

But in the words of Don King when it comes to boxing “Any publicity is great publicity” This sport unfortunately thrives on negative publicity it has gone viral around the world. Since Conor Benns failed drug test news broke. They still had the media workout this afternoon apparently every media organisation and its uncle was present. I think it will be making all the mainstream news channels.

Such is the nature of the sport that this fight will end up doing bigger numbers then it would have done.

When Hearn tried to pull this stunt after Whyte tested positive prior to the Rivas fight I don't think they even had the courtesy to notify Rivas of Whyte's positive test. No doubt Hearn had the same plan here, don't tell Eubank, don't tell anyone, but the media found out and the story got out.

I have heard Hearn get on his soap box arguing the point of having testing if the punishment doesn't match the crime. Yet the hypocrite has now at least twice tried to sweep positive tests under the rug.
Whats even worse then Hearn is the behaviour of Kalle Sauerland. He seems to have concocted a narrative with matchroom. That Eubank jr and Benn had spoken directly to each other Eubank was happy and after also seeking medical and legal advice both fighters were happy to proceed.

The same narrative was repeated by Sauerland, Eddie Hearn and Conor Benn before his media work out. And also in a press release issued by Matchroom and Sauerland.

So when Chris Eubank jr arrived for the media workout he was asked what he and Benn had talked about. He stated he never had any conversation with Benn and it was totally untrue. And he had found out the news same as every body else.

Whatsmore Sauerland claimed he had spoken to Medical experts and they had said; the substance increases Testosterone but does not enhance performance. The moron does not know that Testerone is used to enhance performance.

If nothing else one can say Eddie Hearn fights the corner for his fighters no matter how wrong or indefensible their actions are.

But here is Sauerland who is not looking out for his fighter and putting Zero effort in protecting his interests. When Eubank Jr is the innocent party in all of this.

Instead Sauerland seemed more concerned with protecting the show in what I presume as a co-promotion would be the biggest check of Sauerlands promotional career.

And Eubank jr has been left to fend for himself.
