Saw this on KOTV but there's a fair few articles about it on the net. It's a fight that doesn't really cross your mind but if they could iron out some major issues that need negotiating then I'd be up for this fight.

Gives Marquez a chance to avenge another defeat, John is still unbeaten and it would be a decent fight.

Main problems is weight and venue.

John would have to move up but I'm sure JMM would do 140 if he wanted to meet there.

The venue would be more problematic, marquez won't want to go over Indonesia where they will naturally favour John and John was robbed of a victory to Juarez over the US so maybe skeptical about coming back over again. Mexico would be a good venue, not sure John would go for it.

Either way, John has declined, Marquez has improved. Marquez TKO.

:patsch

Years too late if you ask me. The weight issue is the main snag with this fight, don't think its a bright idea!
I agree its years too late but if they can can get it made, I think its a fairly easy tune for Marquez who is only likely to box on for another fight with Pacquaio imo. Pacquaio aint gonna fight him again until end of next year so why not, not much else better for him without him taking a gamble with a young hot star like Rios or Matthysse.

Chris John

Marquez would beat him, except he probably wouldn't leave it in the hands of the judges this time. Or if he did I doubt he'd get robbed again.

John beat Marquez fair and square, and I don't see how anyone could see it as anything more than a close fight, rather than a robbery. John did at least enough to take 6 out of the 12 rounds, and Marquez was rightly deducted of two points for low blows. Marquez didn't do nearly enough in the fight to consider himself robbed in any way and John managed to out land him in many of the rounds and at least fought on equal terms with Marquez. 114-112 for John, and the best performance of his career:yep

Watched this fight about 6 months or so ago, and made a more detailed post on why I thought John won, if im back on ESB anytime soon ill have a look for it and post it here.

Agreed that Marquez would beat the crap out of John if they were to fight again though, a rematch is at least 3 or 4 years too late.
