Story from ESPN.co.uk - http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/204101.html?CMP=OTC-RSS

Adam Booth has set the wheels in motion for a domestic superfight between David Haye and Tyson Fury by saying it is "the most natural heavyweight fight out there".

Haye is on the comeback trail following a spell in retirement and has his sights trained on a world title shot against either Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko.

The Londoner has so far failed to nail down either of the brothers to a deal and his manager and trainer Booth has suggested a shift in focus to a massive British clash with Fury who extended his unbeaten record with victory over Steve Cunningham at the weekend.

Booth said: "David against Fury is the most natural heavyweight fight out there. It is the most logical high profile fight in Great Britain, if not the world, right now.

"Both boxers are great entertainers, Tyson is doing a great job inside and outside the ring, David is a former two time world champion and his celebrity status has never been higher and importantly both have a top-10 world ranking."

Booth is planning talks with Fury's camp and feels the fight would be a massive stadium event in the UK.

"It would be a huge event anywhere in the country," Booth is quoted as saying in the Sun. "it wouldn't matter if it was London or at a Manchester football stadium. It would be massive.

"I am waiting to make contact with Fury's promoter to see if the interest expressed in some of Fury's comments about David are genuine or just hot air from a young fighter."

Haye is set to step back into the ring this summer and Booth says an opponent will be named shortly. He said: "We are ready to reveal David's next opponent very soon and contracts are being finalised but anything can happen in boxing.

"I've read Fury wants the fight, he says he can knock out David, so let's see if we can make it happen."

Hope this happens. Just imagine the trash talk in the build up!!!

Also, if Fury turns this down he can't keep trotting out the "everyone's ducking me" line.

This wouldn't go more than 5. Haye would be cagey like he always is against the bigger men, to begin with, but he'll get Furys number in 3 or 4 and sort his timing and range then starch him in 5

I could see Haye doing this on C5. He's not tied to a channel. It would probably rest on whether Mick and guarantee him a hefty fee. Wasn't it something like 3 million for the Chisora fight from Warren.

He would win back fans and get crazy exposure. 5 million viewers minimum IMO.

Good idea, it would be a better fight in a year though in my opinion once Fury gets another win or two under his belt. Isnt he set to fight Pulev? Or they could resurrect the Boytsov fight after Denis pussied out last time. If he'd have got through the Cunningha fight easier I'd say he should take it sooner, but that fight makes me think he still needs time to develop

Haye v Fury = Haye v Maccarinelli. If Steve Cunningham a fighter with a less the 50% stoppage ratio can drop Fury, Haye certainly can. Total mismatch, Haye by first or second round KO.
You have to take the size difference into account here though. Also Fury is nothing like Maccarinelli. The only similar thing is that they'll both end with Haye winning by knockout, as with most of Haye's fights.

This fight doesn't happen if Fury faces Pulev though, there's no way he beats the Bulgarian IMO. Evidently Fury isn't ready yet for Haye but there's a question over whether he will ever be good enough to beat him or a Klitschko. He's nearing a world-title shot now and can't wait around for ever so he's staring a loss in the face eventually, just depends whether he wants it to be a Klitschko or a domestic super-fight with a big paycheck or against a relative unknown like Pulev that'll set him back further.

thats a fair point, Pulev is class, i think they've moved Tyson too quickly, they need to slow down and let him get a few more good wins under his belt, Chisora and Cunningham are very good wins, but he needs to deal with a few more styles, or if he wants Haye a few more speedy little men without being put on his arse beforehand. I dont think it's impossible he beats Vitali tbh, he wont box as bad as he did against Cunningham early on, and Vitali just looks there for the taking, Chisora pushed him, i think Fury could grind it out if hes on his best

Well I don't think Fury's that chinny personally and it'd be hard for him to have good head movement with his size. But that's just my opinion :good
Agree, i dont think he looked at all shaky after he got up, if you eat overhand rights you will get put down eventually, but i dont think he was near getting stopped tbh. His style means he wont be a Mike Tyson when it comes to head mvoement, but at the start of his career he did use to roll a bit and have a bit more variety defensively, but then he regressed for a bit

And Valuev was a foot taller than Haye.
Wait, what? What does Valuev have to do with the price of fish?

You're comparing Macca and Fury in terms of size, Macca is 2cm taller than Haye, whereas Fury is around 4-5" taller than Haye.

That's a HUGE difference. I wouldn't say they fight even remotely similar eitherl

Neven Pajkic = 5 stoppages in 17 wins.

Steve Cunningham = 12 stoppages in 25 wins.

Neither big punchers, both dropped Fury heavily.

Nicolai Firtha = 8 stoppages in 20 wins.

Wobbled Fury badly in the 3rd.
