If it happens it'd be great fight, I'd like to think it would be on HBO too so it's what both fighters need to try and get to the next level.

Love for this to be on.

Think Perez lost his momentum too much after Prizefighter. Didn't fight regularly, or get much experience under the belt. In with spoilers/journeymen, but no real game opponents. If he won this it would put him right back on the map, but I'm pretty sure Maloney and Price have had word from the gyms/sparring partners etc that Perez isn't that sharp, and he flattered to deceive against poor opposition in Prizefighter. Why else would you put your cash cow in with a bit of an unknown quantity on his first international card?

That said, I'd love it if Perez turned up in shape and looking in form and landed a few, but I've got a feeling that the Cuban Irish Mike Tyson might turn out to be more like the Cuban Irish Shannon Briggs.

Great fight for the fans and to give Perez a shot though, and I applaud that, but it wouldn't tell us much more about Price if he knocked Perez out in a round. Hopefully Mike will be durable enough to get through a few rounds and test Price. If he takes a few shots, or survives a bit of trouble from Perez then he would have ticked off another box, and it would be one less question mark against Price.

I make this a 50/50, Perez has a very good chance at taking this...about 50% I would say.

Is this the momentous news that was made last week but which won't be reported until this Wednesday? If so then I have to say that I was expecting more....having said that, decent fight but why in the US?....and chief support???

I like Perez, and I think it'd be great for the division if he is serious and dedicated, but I just feel like he might suffer from "defected Cuban Pro-boxer syndrome" and only care where his next McDonalds is coming from. I rate him similarly to Price, in that they have both looked good against low level opposition and could potentially be World level fighters but are almost totally unproven. I just think Price has all the money and promotion behind him, and if his camp thought Perez was dangerous they wouldn't make the fight. Unless Maloney can secure an option on Perez should he win :hey

I know what you mean, if Perez has fallen victim to DCPBS, then it'll be an easy night for Price.
