Lebedev and Troyanovsky score easy victories in Russia
World Boxing News - Phil D. Jay - 17 December 2012
Denis Lebedev made a successful first defence of his full WBA cruiserweight title as he blasted out previously unbeaten challenger Santander Silgado in four rounds at Crocus City Hall in Myakinino, Russia.
The southpaw scored his 19th career stoppage on the night, ending a 23-fight run by the globe-trotting Colombian and may now look for a unification bout against Marco Huck or Yoan Pablo Hernandez in the spring.
In chief support, Eduard Troyanovsky will look to build on his lofty position with the WBA after easily coming through former world title challenger Walter Estrada to improve to 13-0 - with his tenth win inside the distance.
The 32 year-old Russian took just two rounds to dispatch of the 59-fight veteran, who may now be taking a look at where his career may now go after Estrada, 36, lost a third fight in his last seven contests to drop to 42-16-1.
