Sonny Bill Williams vs Frans Botha
Was meant to be a twelve rounder but at the start of the tenth "tenth and final round was announced". SBW was hurt badly in round 9 after Botha cruised throughout the first 8, SBW was well up on points. For 8 rounds Botha, a 60+ fight veteran couldn't hold off a 6 fight novice from tying up any time he came near him.
This was on PPV at 40 bucks a pop (26 quid) and the controversial ending means, guess what, there'll be a return on PPV. Well isn't that funny.
This fight was dogged with fix rumours pre-fight. All over the forums, interesting to see how the bookies react.
The question is not "Was it a fix?" but more; "Was Botha in on the fix?". This result benefits Botha too, who gets another handsome payday in the return.
Beside the grotesque main event, it had possibly the shittest undercard in PPV history:
Quade Cooper vs ??? (debut for Rugby 'star')- KO1
Leapai vs ??? - KO1
Jarrod Fletcher in a decentish fight.
Aussie's are being taken for mugs.
