And if so what would be your solution to this.

I think 10-12 would be best. Some of the lighter divisions with 3-4lbs between them aren't needed at all. You would have more competitive divisions and less multi-weight world champions (which at this point is just a bad thing as it takes away from those who have really achieved it).

I would do maybes cahnge the categories up a bit to make up for it:

Minimum - 105
Fly -112
Bantam - 118
Feather - 127
Light - 136
Welter - 145
Light Middle - 154
Middle - 163
Super middle - 172
Light-heavy - 190
Cruiser - 220
Heavy - 220+

I wouldn't be averse to sticking another one in there either and that would be shot of five which would be much better.

Or maybes some variations. i know people would be pissed at changing some of the original weights about but overall getting it down to this would make boxing so much better imo.

Ye I'd agree with those changes for sure, but what about the gap between cruiser and heavy there?

Yeah that was the one I was thinking about adding into. I wouldn't want a super-heavy division but maybes putting the heavy limit up would help and then adapting the weights below them to meet might work better.

Could have super middle then up the others so that heavy is a bit higher. Not that I want loads of big Klitschko like fighters but sometimes the weight gaps are just silly and the smaller guys chances of winning anything are dramatically cut.

Not sure it would help but somewhere between cruiser and the big heavy's lies a great division of boxing but then again will they still just pile on the extra pounds to make the division that makes more money.

In an ideal world, yes. But it's more likely to go the other way unfortunately. Super-light-light-welterweight anyone?
This unfortunately, no need for so many weight divisions.
