Sugar Ray Robinson V Archie Moore - there was talks of this happening instead of the SRR V Maxim fight, had Robinson had won this would probably have happened.

Rocky Marciano V Floyd Patterson - Marciano considered coming out of retirement as he was unimpressed with Patterson and fancied himself to beat him. I think the loss to Ingemar ended any fancies of making a return.

Any others

Off the top of my head I was gutted that Camacho-Chavez didn't happen at the right time at 130-135 (~1982??). The fight was there to be made but Camacho moved up and Chavez was always a division or so below until it was too late.

Tommy Hearns and Ray Leonard should have rematched way before they did.
A putative Nelson - McGuigan bout was getting massive hype before Steve Cruz derailed McGuigan's career.
Tyson - Foreman should have happened and would have made boatloads of cash.
There was a brief window when Holmes - Page would have been awesome.
From a more parochial standpoint, Herol Graham against either Eubank or Benn would have been interesting.

I would have liked it to happen but it wasn't as mandatory as revisionists like to make out. Just had to say that because you used the word 'should'.
T, of course it WASN'T mandatory, anymore than Harry Greb fighting top lightheavyweights, top heavyweights time after time, because it was a CHALLENGE that
the public wanted....My word "should" doesn't mean in a legal term, but means it would satisfy the boxing world's curiousity as to who was a "greater" fighter
Ray Robinson or Charley Burley ?
T,though young at that time, I recall people arguing that question, and that bout "should" of happened, but I guess Ray Robinson, best fighter I ever saw ringside
wasn't as "fearless" as Harry Greb...

I understand what you was saying my man, and I know the context of Robinson ducking Burley, I'm just saying that saying it should have happened is false, that's all. I would have loved for it to happened as much as the next guy though, it would have been a fantastic luxury fight.

T, speaking of Charley Burley...As a young boy my dad would take me to the fights in NYC weekly or more as every night there was a boxing card in NY
except Sunday..This one night my dad asked me to join him to see the bouts at the old St. Nicholas Arena, where a prelim boy who he fravored was on the card.
I refused as I had homework, and he went alone...In the morning he said he saw a Charley Burley destroy some guy in the first round..I heard the name Burley before
whispered about, and this was the only time Burley ever fought in NY, and as a boxing reporter wrote next day "probably the last time", so feared he was...Too bad I had the chance to see Burley fight and homework stopped me...Of course I saw Ray Robinson as his WW peak a few times...
