He's fairly decent for a prospect. He's been trained for pro style as many of the Americans were so the amateur fencing didn't suit them so much. Practically all the US team had under 50 fights, they weren't blooded in like the other teams - which is why they did shite.

Plus Spence made it to the pre-quarters, if he'd had won one more fight he would have tied Mayweathers Olympic attempt. he got two rounds further than Juan Manuel Lopez. Losing in the Olympics isnt really a bad sign of a boxer.
