What myth? That he's a perfect trainer who can't have fighters lose because he's capable of giving them every physical attribute to make them perfect, as well as every mental attribute? Or the myth that he trained the fighter of the decade and has had a host of world champions in his stable, a HOF career and a world renowned gym? Please clarify what you think was a myth and why it's been proven a myth.

Anyone think that Freddies health condition is affecting him, I saw an interview with him yesterday and he looked ill. he's a great trainer but at somepoint he is going to have to call it a day and his boxers have took a nosedive in form over the last year.

I thought it was pretty sad watching him being interviewed in the 'Khan: Behind The Ropes' documentary. The Parkinsons seems to be getting worse all the time but with him saying on many occasions that the gym is what he lives for, it's hard to see him jacking it in or even taking a step back anytime soon.

someone said in one of the posts 'should khan look for a new trainer'
if i was him i would be praying that freddie doesnt lose faith in him...his biggest concern at the moment should be keeping freddie at all costs
Roach is a tremendous coach but I do think a change would be best for Khan. His fighters are exciting but open and Amir doesn't have a beard like Chavez Jr.

Cant blame freddie one bit for Khans losses, he has this constant need to prove himself as a tough guy and its cost him 3 fights, he gives away every natural advantage he has trying to be something he isnt

He's not trying to be someone he isn't, he is the fighter you saw last night, and has been right back to the Olympics. His problem is that he can't do anything other than rely on his natural fighting instincts and he lacks the beard to employ the style successfully. In fact he has one of the worst chins I have ever seen in my life!

I don't know where this 'Khan is a natural boxer' has come from but a lot of people seem to accept the notion.

Yeah I thought he looked rough yesterday. But I don't really buy into his boxers looking bad lately. I thought Pacquiao was superb in the first half of the Bradley fight. Khan has always been fragile, and was shown up by two pressure fighters.

I also thought Pacquaio was good against Bradley but he didn't look as good as he used to even one year ago and he put his worst performance in against Marquez. This of course could be age or other factors and I couldn't really say how much Freddy can do in the gym but at some-point it is going to get to a point where he starts to slip.

No, I don't think so.

Whether Manny Pacquaio deserved to lose or not (and he did have a rather dubious victory against Juan Manual Marquez in his fight before), Freddie Roach's reputation was secured by his work with Pacquaio which is THE boxing story of this century, so far.

Khan joined Freddie Roach's camp in the aftermath of a devestating defeat against Prescott and within 2 years he had won significant titles in two weight divisions. It is also possible that Danny Garcia may be one of the best of his generation, we simply don't know yet.

The greatest fighters all lost fights so single defeats should rarely, if ever, be brought into consideration when judging the careers of either fighters or trainers.

Yeah I tend to agree that he will start to lose his edge simply because he is a very ill man. I think Pacquiao is genuinely losing interest in the sport now. Maybe Khan should change trainers. Manny Steward sorted out Wlad's defensive incapabilities, but Khan doesn't have the technique or jab to make that work. Booth would be a nightmare for him, imagine Amir dropping his hands even lower!

How many guys did Ray Arcel have lose to Joe Louis?

He must have been a myth too.

Roach has some faults as a trainer IMO, his guys seem to be lacking in the finer points of infighting and outboxing but to deny he is a quality trainer and a legend is bullshit
