Adonis Stevenson got his wish. The Canadian super middleweight will reportedly get a crack at IBF champion Carl Froch this spring, according to several sources in Canada. Eddie Hearn, the promoter for Froch (30-2, 22 KOs), confirmed to journalist Nancy Audet of TVA Sports that a fight with Stevenson (19-1, 16KOs) could take place in April or May, probably in England.

Yvon Michel, promoter for Stevenson, is said to be staging a press conference on Friday to announce the match.

The IBF had ordered Froch to defend his title against Stevenson and gave both sides until January 15th to reach an agreement or a purs bid would have been scheduled.

Hearn was trying to reach a deal Sauerland Event for a unification rematch with WBA "regular" champion Mikkel Kessler of Denmark, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement, according to Hearn.

After Stevenson, Froch would face either Lucian Bute or Kessler in a rematch.

The IBF always wave mandatories in favour of unification, so a Kessler rematch will take priority for them. The only reason a Kessler fight wouldn't happen is if the Dane has gotten cold feet about coming to England.

:lol: I know it's not a real unification, but everyone would rather see that fight than a Stevenson one (which could be tough).

I thought Kessler might want one more big payday in Denmark first. I wouldn't be surprised if they get Pavlik over there

Not really this fight could sell out the O2 that's 20000 ticket sales there, plus it would defiantly be a PPV fight which would even make them a profit on the fight if they promoted it right

I'm glad that Adonis Stevenson is pushing and demanding his title shot. Too many times the mandatory contender gets overlooked or ignored.

He wants the fight and I hope he does get it. He's a fun fighter to watch.

Froch vs Kessler will still happen (in 2013) and that's a Great fight. In the mean-time I'm sure Mikkel will beat another contender, in Denmark and help build the fight.

Froch vs Stevenson is the type of fight that will be fun while it lasts.

Fuck Stevenson the woman beating pimp. The IBF should leave him out to dry, let him fight rapist Don George every few months for pennies until he fucks off. No way should he be getting his biggest payday for a fight no one really wants.

Just pay Kessler, if they can't make money of that fight then Carl may as well retire as he wont be getting Kessler or Ward and without moving up there's not many good fights left for him.

They must be offering buttons cause that's now Kessler, Pavlik and Oosthuzien said no to coming over when its probably the best fight out there for all three of them.
